Mystic Slipperman Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 I've said it before, but it bears repeating.... There's just too much damn good music for one lifetime.

Jaye Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 Tom Sawyer is a great song for ducking out of work early.

Mystic Slipperman Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 (edited) So is the old US version of The Beatles' Help, with the faux James Bond-style intro... it's on the original US vinyl, and the US 1962-66 LP. Never been on CD before! Edited October 8, 2008 by Mystic Slipperman
GeddyRulz Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 From Hannah and Her Sisters, as Dianne Wiest and Woody Allen watch a punk band... Holly: Don't you just love songs about extra-terrestrial life? Mickey: Not if they're sung by extra-terrestrials... I'm afraid once they're done singing they're gonna take hostages!
theworkingman Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 Disc 3 of Different Stages is as perfect as anything could ever get.
telegraphcreeklocal Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 Hear the guy yell TURN THIS UP during CYGNUS X-1 then Geddy freaks the dude by rippimg his head off...
ReRushed Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 I just listened to OK Computer. It's not one of the greatest albums of all time.
Did Lee Squat? Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 QUOTE (ReRushed @ Oct 14 2008, 09:03 AM)I just listened to OK Computer. It's not one of the greatest albums of all time. Yes it is. Seriously, give it some time to grow on you. I bought it about 2 months ago, gave it a few listens, and wasn't that impressed. This weekend I pulled it out for the first time since then, and something clicked.....now I like it a lot more.

King Troll Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 OK Computer is Overrated pretentious Toss. Full Stop. Carnival Bizarre Best album of the 90s by far
Gompers Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 Any association Madonna has with rock and roll needs to be stripped. Same for Jacko.
ArrowSnake Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 Chad Smith and Flea are one of the tightest rhythm sections ever! I have this Chad Smith drum instruction DVD, where he jams a lot with Flea, and damn these guys are tight! Chad's bass drum really follows Flea's bass riffs constantly. Flea is an awesome bass player by the way.

This weekend I pulled it out for the first time since then, and something clicked.....now I like it a lot more. Dude, I bought the album eleven years ago! It's a very good album. I enjoy listening to it very much. It's just not one of the greatest albums of all time, let alone the best Radiohead album. To my ears it's at least number four, behind Kid A, The Bends and In Rainbows. And it may be tied with Amnesiac, at that. In Rainbows is their best (and it grew on me, I didn't like it that much when I first heard it).

For now, I'll put OK Computer at number five.
