theworkingman Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 QUOTE (Hatchetaxe&saw @ May 14 2009, 07:27 AM) Lady GaGa's Pokerface is more addictive than chocolate. Fact. If I hear that song one more time I'm going to shoot someone. Fact.
theworkingman Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 New Wilco is really great. Much better than Sky Blue Sky.
naturalsciences101 Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 They're not bad. I didn't get a chubby or anthing, but not bad. If you like that style, then you'll certainly dig this new band that's blowing up right now as we speak: http://www.myspace.com/seventhvoid Seventh Void. Those guys are getting a bunch of radio and media support and the single is supposedly doing very well. They have somewhat of a mainstream sound, but the album is really good despite that. Much Doom influence. And, if that's yer ticket, then please, by all means, give a shot to Sahg. They're Scandanavia's answer to DOWN. I'm totally Down with both orgs. The album is actually better than the last Down disc. And, their sound fits in nicely with fans of Corrosion and Black Label Society. Listen to Pyromancer first. That's what the album is like. http://www.myspace.com/sahg As for the band that I KEEP ON telling you about, but you haven't checked out yet, the one that ripped-off Cynic's initial sound and went off into different realms with it, well, this is them. This is Obscura, and they absolutely destroy. Totally cerebral outfit. http://www.myspace.com/realmofobscura And, this next band is a bonus. Just 'cause I like ya. One of the most innovative groups I've heard in eons. They manage to work in loads of cello and strange instrumentation into their way-progressive Alt-Metal pieces. Total mind candy for those dig smarts. Hope ya have fun with these. Only the Top-Shelf stuff for my bud, SygnalsChick http://www.myspace.com/grayceon

Hatchetaxe&saw Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 QUOTE (ReRushed @ May 15 2009, 12:52 AM) Why wasn't Big Star huge? Honestly, that is one of life's most perplexing questions. Should have been MASSIVE. September Gurls just kills me every time. As does Back of A Car. Amazing band.
Xanadu93 Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 QUOTE (fledgehog @ May 14 2009, 02:39 PM) there is so much amazing new music being made today. Try telling that to the folks who live in 1978.
Xanadu93 Posted May 16, 2009 Posted May 16, 2009 I can't stop watching Fall Out Boy's video for "America's Suitehearts". Sue me.

Hatchetaxe&saw Posted May 17, 2009 Posted May 17, 2009 I can't wait for The Eagles Dublin concert to be over and done with. The non stop radio advertising for it is driving me to drink. Still, the Galway show was cancelled due to an incredible lack of interest and Dublin tickets are selling slowly. Is that a death rattle I hear? Wankers.
*Limelight* Posted May 18, 2009 Posted May 18, 2009 Frankenstein by The Edgar Winter Group is so addicting.
Xanadu93 Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 I'm currently hooked on Radiohead's In Rainbows and Coldplay's X&Y.
Xanadu93 Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 "Lights Out" by Green Day reminds me of something from Dookie.
fledgehog Posted June 1, 2009 Author Posted June 1, 2009 Transatlantic are one of the greatest supergroups ever.
Hatchetaxe&saw Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 Marquee Moon has not aged a day. Bloody marvellous.
Gompers Posted July 8, 2009 Posted July 8, 2009 I can't think of any song that is about donuts or doughnuts.
