I can't believe someone would get upset for someone standing at a Rush concert. An earlier comment about the chicago vs. Milwaukee S&A concert is correct. I was at the Summerfest show and when Rush entered, everyone stood up immediately for nearly the entire show. A few guys behind me grumbled for about 30 seconds then shut up. Everyone stands at all Summerfest stages. If you want to sit down you just have to move back.

When people stand up you can sit down and burn (good cover).

I did go to a Joe Satriani concert at the Pabst Theater here in Milwaukee and everyone sat down except during applause but that was a totally different atmosphere. Can't expect people to sit at Rush unless you're so far away you feel like you're not part of the action.

Just got back from Mohegan Sun - and I was asked to sit down also!! I was in the Next To Last Row - there was *1* couple behind me - and the wife asked me to sit, because her husband couldn't see!! I said "No. I'm a huge Rush Fan; I paid a lot of money for this seat, and I NEVER sit at Rush concerts." I then graciously offered to switch seats with them - since there wasn't anyone behind them that could be bothered by my standing!! Just me and the wall!!

The show was good - but I personally think the crowd sucked tonight!! The people in the front row just stood there with their arms crossed!! Even when Geddy and Alex came out the center/front section right in front of the crowd, they still just stood there.

There was one young kid (10-12 yrs old) in front of Alex and he was ROCKING OUT the entire concert!!! His dad was air drumming behind him, and this kid was rocking!! I saw Alex give him a pick, and later I noticed the kid had sticks, too!! I'm glad his enthusiasm was rewarded!!

I just got home as well (after a detour through Boston because of traffic and construction). I was told to sit by a couple of shall we say less than friendly sorts (that's euphamism for what ever batch of 4-letter words you prefer to use) during the third song of the first set. When this happened, I took a look a round, and noticed something odd- almost the entire house, except those on the floor, were sitting. What a lame crowd! This is only the fourth Rush show I have attended, first at Mohegan, but this was the most lack-luster crowd I have ever seen. When the (insert 4-letter words here) asked me to sit down I wanted to respond by informing him that perhaps the Barry Manilow or Beach Boy concerts coming up at Mohegan Sun would be more to his taste, but I restrained myself, not wanting to get thrown out of the show..... this was a rock concert, right? right?

Other than the fools in the audience who weren't at all (seemingly) in to the show, I thought it was a great concert, glad I hadn't been spoiled by the set list prior to going, some nice surprises. I think next tour I'll be going back to Mansfield, always a great crowd there.

Bullshit I seen it played live at Irvine 2.gif Presto Tour...the outstanding piece of the evening... 1022.gif

All accounts, and even the fine folks at PowerWindows, agree the song has never ever been played live.

I just checked the setlist from the PRESTO tour and it does not appear.

The Irvine show was the last show of the PRESTO tour, so, maybe, you got a last minute bonus.

If so, I'm crazy jealous!

First leg I bought 2 tickets at $85.00 a ticket to watch some chick who could not dance block my view, this leg I bought 3 tickets at $111.00 a ticket and brought my son,we sat and enjoyed the show. What fun is it to keep having to stand and crane your neck around someone taller.Nothing wrong with sitting and enjoying the show,it beats having some fat ass chick that can't dance in front of you.

Unfortunately this happened to me and my friends also ... Older folks in back of us asked us to sit down ( We were in Section 14). I also couldn't believe all of the people on the floor who were sitting. Had to be the lamest crowd ever - not all of course, just the majority.

this may sound stupid0- i'm no geography genius but, what is a Mohegan and where is irt ?  Is that a native american name for a casino or soemthings?

Mohegan Sun is a casino and has an indoor arena for concerts. It is located in Uncasville, CT.

Okay, so Rob (RobertJames1971) and I and Rob's brother were asked to sit down. And here's what I saw. Almost everyone in Mohegan was sitting down! I couldn't believe it! I had a hard time rockin' in my seat, but if you ask Rob, he'll tell you I managed it somehow. The guys behind us were complaining about the lameness too.

Then I looked in the front row. Most of the people in the front row were just standing there. They weren't rocking out or anything. In fact, one girl kept leaving!!!! WTF?

I did see the kid rocking out with his dad. So cool. I saw a few people playing air drums on the floor. Also very cool. Overall, the crowd seemed not very into it!

Maybe the fact that it was a Monday, people like me rushing out of work ,driving 1hour and a half to see the concert, some of us just wanted to sit and chill, plus I had to get up at 3:00 am to go back to work.I understand some of the younger kids wanted to rock, but I brought my 6 year old also so I needed to chiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiill.OH yeah I did notice that chick keep getting up and leaving, that's the kind of ticket that a young kid should have to experience a show, what a waste.

ah thanks

I wonder how many people wind up spending way more than they want to before and after on gambling- on the other hand some may win a few bucks

Usually Casinos have an age restriction- I wonder if this affects kids under 18 who aren't with parents who want to just see a show

Yup, a "fan" came down the stairs and asked my brother (who was on the aisle) if we could please sit down. We did, but not until l'il brother told him to go back to his seat and age.

It sucked, but the show was still great.

I HATE when I see pix of the audience at Rush shows and everyone is standing there with their arms folded. wtf.gif Especially if you're in the first few rows. Could you just relax, have a good time and at least air drum or something? Act like you WANT to be there? confused13.gif

this is so wierd to me, I've never been asked to sit down, or asked someone to sit down at any concert...

At the PA shows, everyone was on their feet.

What bothered me was people standing on top of their chairs in front of me. But I wasn't about to say anything about it.

you are a good fan!

I used to stand on chairs...actually, it was the POWER WINDOWS tour if memory serves, at the MEADOWLANDS ARENA in NJ...

we had floor seats on Alex's side..bout midway round the arena, and the seats we were in were arena seats, but the seats in front of us were folding chairs. I had one foot on the back of my seat and one foot on the back of the folding chair in front of me....after a couple of hours, it started to bend.

My first thought? OOH IM TAKING THIS HOME!

and I did! LOL I had to bend it back and forth a bit til it broke, but I got it out of the Meadowlands. Had it for years. Damned if I know where it wound up though. eh.gif

The people that sat in front of us, sat for most of the show. That did make our view of the stage less obstucted and easier to make eye contact with Geddy (My man crush for Ged was showing lastnight blush4.gif ). Thanks, people in front of us.

They did however stand for: Red Barchetta, Subdivisions, Spirit of the Radio and Tom Sawyer. It was quite funny, when those songs were played, the woman popped up out of her seat as if to say: "Oh!... I know this song"

If you stand at NOKIA in Los Angeles in the Center for example half way up, the way the floor rises, you see over their head anyway unless you are under 4ft. tall... 2.gif 1022.gif 'Lil Al risers to the rescue!
