Drumnut
I recently became the not-so-proud owner of 3 new pets. Not my idea BTW. I now have 3 squawkin' Parakeets in the house. I have a couple of questions... 1. Would you call them Three Parakeets or, a Trio-a-Keets? 2. Why would someone buy 3 Parakeets in the first place? 3. Is it legal to release them into the wild? My short answers to all 3: 1. I call them a Trio-a-Keets. Individually, they are of course, Geddy, Neil, and Alex. 2. Someone got stuck with them the same as I did. 3. I don't care if it's legal or not. How are they (whoever they are) going to catch me once the noisy bastards fly away?

Well, after leaving the doors wide open so the little squawkers could fly away if they wanted to, one of them flew out. I was sleeping when it got out, but noticed it after I awoke. I opened the doors in the house right away to see if it would fly out, and it flew right back into the cage. This is going to be harder than I thought. Free to good home.. A Trio-a-Keets I am sure a bird lover will be more than happy to take them off your hands. But, don't just let them go out into the wild they will not survive BTW.. since you have them, play Xanadu for them They will love it especially the begining. My old parakeet Jake would "freak out" when I played it I haven't tried Xanadu yet. I'll take boom box out there later when it's bedtime, uncover them and start the song. That way, I can wake them up. One of them keeps getting out, flies around the house for a few, and then spends a half hour figuring how to get back in. All of the doors are open, so they are free to come and go as they please.

The local pet shop doesn't want them.

sullysue
My kids love reptiles and creepy crawly things. A few months ago, Savannah's beloved Rainbow Ameiva, Rex, passed away. So, we replaced him with an Iguana, whom she named Geddy. Sera got a Japanese Water Dragon, Spike, for her b-day in Feb. I thought, "My God. They're going to kill each other in that terrarium together." Not exactly.... http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y111/ssullysue/IMG_1475.jpg It's not what it looks like, though. Spike just likes to hitch a ride every once in a while! And that Geddy is REALLY mean! He whips his tail and hisses at anyone who gets near him. (Except for Spike, of course. )
