Wandering Hermit
I assume that the Wild will let Fleury play tonight in what is likely his last visit to Pittsburgh. Unless we play them in the Cup finals.

I have always liked Fleury, he's the reason I wanted Vegas to win the Cup in 2018. But he has 3 rings already so it wasn't the end of the world they lost. Lots of tribute videos on YT . This is one of the best Thanks for posting that. I have a proposal for the hockey gods: let's have MAF's final game be winning a Stanley Cup for Minny. Sounds good, right?

Wandering Hermit
I guess I need to adopt Utah as my 3rd favorite team. I am obviously a Wild fan, but I was born in Buffalo and my early childhood was informed by Perrault, Robert, and Martin, the French Connection. So they are number two. We moved to Salt Lake City when I was 8 and I grew up there and am a Ute alum and attended countless Stockton-Malone games, mostly at the Salt Palace, where the Salt Lake Golden Eagles were the minor league hockey team. I'm still dreading that they are going to choose a dumb name for the club, though. I was really, really hoping for Golden Eagles, although that would look to derivative of Vegas now, to those that don't know the SLC history. Back in the day we were farm club for the California Golden Seals. Remember them? I do. And I remember the KC Scouts. Back in the day we were farm club for the California Golden Seals. Remember them? I do. And I remember the KC Scouts. The Salt Lake Golden Eagles was my first team, my mother started going to the games and got our whole family into hockey. I remember the big deal about Charlie Finley having the Seals and Golden Eagles wear white skates like Oakland A's shoes. We had season tickets for many years and were very disappointed when Larry Miller bought the Eagles. It was nice to have the team play at the Delta Center but Miller had no intention of keeping the team for long, they were only needed for him to get funding to build the arena. He started shopping them around several years after he bought them. Luckily we only went one year without a team. Salt Lake bid on the 2002 Olympics and won. It also helped that the Nordiques moved to Denver and the Grizzlies moved from Denver to Salt Lake. Had season tickets to the Grizz for a number of years but once we began going to University of Utah Football, we couldn't afford season tickets for both. Still went a few games each season but wasn't into the team as much as in the past. I was very skeptical when all the talk about Smith bringing an NHL team here began, given past experience with Larry Miller. He has proven me wrong and is treating the team and fans with respect. My sister and I got in a 10 game package for this first season and I have seen a couple of games so far. I am impressed with the coaching and we have some great players. I agree we will probably end up with Yeti as the mascot but guess I can live with it. Will just buying UHC gear and wear it. Still an Avs fan but can't pass up seeing some great players come to town. It is a fun atmosphere so far so hope it continues. Edited November 2 by Rhyta

Signals tour at Salt Palace was my first Rush show. So bummed that they tore that arena down. I moved out in 1991 and much about the city is so different now. My mom lives in Kearns so I am there semi-regularly. Obligatory NHL comment. Wild win again over a good team.

The Seals became the Cleveland Barons. Then the Barons merged with the North Stars, now Dallas Stars. Kinda crazy how it all changed. There was actually a dispersal draft in June of 1978 that settled these transactions. Edited November 3 by Rhyta
