The Avs decided to trade Georgiev, I get why they are doing it but feel like they mishandled him from the get go.  Overplayed him while letting Annunen sit on the bench too long then he was not reliable enough to help out when Georgie melted down.  Hope San Jose treats him better.

Now it's the Woodies Wedgewood and Blackwood in net.  Another Wood to come when he gets off injured list.

Going to my first regular season Utah Hockey Club game Tuesday.  Will get to see the Wild, hope we can keep it close.

Toronto, has four home games including a two game homestand, and three road games including a two game road trip, and two back-to-backs.  Tonight, in Toronto, against Anaheim Ducks, which Toronto, won 3-2, a back-to-back Sat. night, and Sun., in Detroit, against Detroit Red Wings, which Toronto, lost 4-2, and in Toronto, against Buffalo Sabres, which Toronto, won 5-3.  On next Wed. Dec. 18, in Dallas, against Dallas Stars, which Toronto, won 5-3, a back-to-back Fri. Dec. 20, in Buffalo, against Buffalo Sabres, which Toronto, won 6-3, and Sat. Dec. 21, in Toronto, against New York Islanders, which Toronto, lost 6-3, and Mon. Dec. 23, against Winnipeg Jets, which Toronto, lost 5-2.  At home, they are 14-6.  On the road, they are 7-6-2.  Overall, 21-12-2.

Afraid our seats were way too high up and not near the benches.  Was a really great game, too bad we let the Wild score with less than 30 seconds left.  It would have been a big feather in our cap to win the game.  At least we got a point.

I was surprised at how loud the sound system is, at times you could feel vibrations in your chest   Not fond of the horn either but the fans are getting better at telling when we are offsides.  Trying to find a hoodie but they are out of the one I want.  I want to have one with this name on it in case they do the dumb thing and name them Yeti

 

Will be watching the Avs v UHC tonight in pirate mode,  have an eye patch after a followup surgery on my right eye.  Fingers crossed it turns out ok.

I too dread "Yeti." Outlaws is the only decent name left IMO. I still wish they would have gone with Salt Lake Golden Eagles.

 

Well you hoped for the HC to keep it close, and you cannot get much closer than shootout loss with a last shot going off the crossbar! Felt bad for Bjugstad, he was with the Wild for a while and always liked him.

Got the bandage off, it's doing good, some redness but think they got the gunk from the cataract out so spots will dissipate soon.

 

I voted for the Outlaws and some people got their hopes up when the Bear Mascot was wearing chaps and a cowboy hat a couple of games ago.  We shall see.

 

I loved the Golden Eagles but I think that name should stay retired IMHO.  They can't repeat their history and shouldn't try.  They will always be a part of hockey history in Salt Lake.

Wow,  Utah Hockey went to Denver and shut the Avs down  4-1. 5 straight road wins  Vejmelka came close to getting a shutout no less.  This was one of those games where I wouldn't be upset whoever won since I like them both.  Think Avs had jet lag, they only got in town early Friday morning and were worn out.

 

Really hoping UHC will keep doing well to get a wild card spot.

Wild starting to struggle against quality teams. Not a good sign.

A little late posting..Saturday's games were good for both the Avs and UHC

 

MacKinnon now up to 50 points on the season, this is his 10th season in a row getting 50 or more.  Avs had a bounce back game, handled the Preds pretty well.  Mac had 2 goals and an assist.  Blackwood did well in his first time in net after the trade earlier in the week.

 

Utah Hockey has 7 road wins in a row now, going into San Jose and beating the Sharks.  This team is getting better defensively and they are improving each game with their shots.  Veggie still good in goal.

 

Tonight a late game with Vancouver for the Avs.

Yesterday, and last night, Winnipeg, and Dallas, weren't scheduled to play games.  It was on Wednesday night they did, when Dallas, played Toronto, and lost 5-3, and Winnipeg, played Anaheim, and lost 3-2.  Tonight, Colorado, plays Anaheim, and Utah, plays Minnesota.
