Because so many other players were juicing during those few years? Yeah, I get that. The difference is none of those other players broke two of the most beloved records in baseball -- the single season and the all-time HR records. McGwire, Sosa and Bonds are the faces of the steroid era for a reason.

They were the best of their era,  Bonds by far the year he set his record.

Yes, the best cheating could produce at the time.  The tragedy is that Bonds was a Hall-of-Famer without the drugs, but he won't get in until enough people who think that cheating isn't cheating when enough people do it get on the veteran's committee or that it doesn't matter.  He deserves to be in the Hall for his abilities, but his character has excluded him.  Whether or not this is the correct way to view membership is an open question, but comparing his achievements to people who didn't pharmaceutically transform their bodies and their hat sizes through drugs isn't fair.

The best players always  take measures to improve their performance.  Why us their no outrage over speed, coke, betablockers...?

Bottom line, the best of each era are the best of each era, drugs, PEDs, etc

He defrauded the game. But they were enabled by everyone from the commissioner on down. A commissioner with balls would apologize and nullify their records.  Judge and Aaron are the true home rin kings. We were robbed of the opportunity to celebrate properly.

That's OK, we were treated to endless cutins that became memes on College Gameday.

Let's hope that today's game is the last in a home uniform as a Yankees for Aaron Judge, and the last time he has to hear boos from that pathetic fan base while in pinstripes.
