HAHAHAHAHA!! Pat you are so predictable. I knew you would type that!!!!

"Abuse Your Illusion" should have been one album.

I do like six songs on there.

Most are complete crap.

Funny how Tex left out "November Rain" but yes, a hit. However as must GNR Fans know, "November Rain" was written during the "Appetite" years. They held that one back.

For me it's all about "COMA."

It's a fuckking EPIC MASTERPIECE!

It's becoming clearer that Guns 'n' Roses were a one hit wonder band, and only then if you like that one album, which I don't.

So Pat.

I have shared this story on here many times.

I remember buying "Appetite For Destruction" on cd at Rasputin's. My favorite local record store.

I raced home to play this album.

I FUCKKING HATED IT!!!!!!

I actually returned it to the store for 75% credit.

I thought it was shite. Just like "Signals" and "Hysteria." When I bought them on new release day.

Boy am I a whore right?

Over the summer, "Appetite" grew on my on the radio.

I bought it again and fell in love with the record.

But man, I was always a "Live Like A Suicide" guy too. I had that on vinyl before "Lies" came out with that on side A.

I don't know Pat.

"Use Your Illusion" is shite. But there are a few gems on there. Again, should have been one album.

I saw the "Use Your Illusion" Tour warm up in SF. The Warfield.

Tickets sold out in one hour.

I scored two thanks to my ex girlfriend telling me to get my ass out of bed at 8 am.

I did.

I saw Bill Graham hiding being a postcard rack on Market Street undercover in glasses.

Watching MTV swirl their cameras around the streets.

That night Lora and I my ex chick went to the show.

We had floor seats.

I've told you this story before.

I left her to go buy a couple of beers on tap.

As I'm walking down the runway to my seat hold ing a beer in each hand,

Some grumpy fuckk with his head down in a long sleeved baby blue long sleeved shirt bumps into me!!

The beer in my right hand goes all over this guy!!

Fukk! It was Bill Graham!!!!

I said... "Holy Shit Bill!!! I am so sorry!!! Bill looked up at me and growled!!!! Hahahahaha!!!!! It was EPIC!!!

I spilt a beer on Bill Graham and it wasn't even my fault!!!! LOL!!!

Pat!!!

That night I snuck up to the front row at the Warfield and was right underneath Slash.

I was so close to him I could see the track marks in his arm.

I thought the show as fuckking incredible. But I was a lot younger back then and I loved GNR.

I still do Pat.

But I'm a nostalgic idiot.

GNR is postponed. Not cancelled.

I have 4 row tickets. I'm keeping them mate.

Fuckk it.

Eventually everything will be gone.

Too bad HAKEN won't tour the USA.

I'm going to retire and get a vaccine.

Then I'm going to travel the world and follow bands who are still relevant.

Life is short.

I have no regrets.

RUSH ON!

I remember they had that version of Knocking on Heavens Door, his voice was terrible. He sounded like someone from an asylum who hadn't had his meds for a few days.

I've moaned several times over the years on TRF about that cover. I think it's the worst cover (that's not generally thought of as bad) I've heard.

It's really awful. It's so bad it makes me think their other covers are bad even though they're mostly okay from what I've heard.

Their cover of Hair of the Dog is excellent.

Hahahaha!!!!! You kill me. Really on a public forum? Fuckk it I don't care it's really simple.

When I play my drums I play about an hour or so a day.

Mostly play to a Rush album. Some select Rush faves and then I end my workout with a drum solo.

So Pat, as you know I am a germaphobe and I am always thinking about hygiene and cleanliness everywhere.

Ummmmm, even before this Pandemic I have always been very aware of being clean. Everywhere.

So when I get home from work say around 6 pm. I wash up. Change boxers. Hop on the kit and fuckking jam.

I am not a big sweating human so I'm good in that department. Sometimes I get blisters and I bleed on my Promark 747s. I love it. It's not pain. It's bliss. Like that amazing movie called "Whiplash." The jazz drummer who is tormented by the insane instructor.

Pat. Have you seen "Whiplash?" You must!!!

So after I jam on the drums, I immediately take my shower.

Always clean.

Always aware.

No swamp ass here. That's fuckking gross.

I mentioned it because I was watching a Sons of Apollo Rigged episode on Gear Gods with Portnoy, Billy Sheehan and Derek Sherinian. Portnoy went through his kit and then near the end he came to the stool and he had a towel on it because of his swamp ass he said!

But what would you say about Bob Dylan's vocal delivery in the same song? Esp. the first verse:

Mama, take this badge off of me

It's really terrible to me.

But what would you say about Bob Dylan's vocal delivery in the same song? Esp. the first verse:

Mama, take this badge off of me

It's really terrible to me.

Bob’s vocals in the last 30 or so years haven’t been enjoyable but the original versions of his 60s-70s tunes are fine.

I can understand people not liking Bob or Geddy vocals.

But to me, Axl has always had that awful squelch. Annoying. It’s not just a matter of not liking it.

I respect Bob Dylan as a writer and I saw him open for Aerosmith in the 90's. Very strange. I'm glad I saw him but man it was torture. I can't stand his voice.

The only cover that I can think of that's better imho is Hendrix' All Along the Watchtower.

The Byrds' Mr.Tambourine Man is pretty good and may or may not be better. However, I think there's a greater impact with what Bob's saying lyrically when it's just him on vocals. If you're going straight up vocals vs vocals then yeah, I'd give the nod to The Byrds.

Civil War is the only song I voted for. These are not albums that are special in any way for me. I agree that they could have been combined into 1 album. Even then, Civil War would have been the only song I would vote for. I have the albums but they are gathering dust. Been at least a decade since I have listened to them and I was totally underwhelmed by them both then and when I first got them. Civil War is an awesome song and can be mentioned in the same sentences in which their 1st album is mentioned. The rest of these albums - not 4 me.

From Guns N' Roses' Use Your Illusion II c.d., and album, their Civil War song was a hit.
