Two rush albums that make a great mixtape together

Recommended Posts

A good mix tape probably has contrast styles and pacing, so I'd likely blend something like AFTK with Power Windows. Of course a fine Permanent Waves pairs well with anything.

 

But its a sin to listen to The Voyage and not Hemispheres.

You can construct a decent album taking the best parts from Snakes & Arrows and Roll The Bones. Not really great, but decent.

I'll grant you p/g is a lot more guitar based than people give it credit for, but I can't think of many more jarring juxtapositions than the Andy Summers-isms of p/g paired with the sheer heaviness and metallic edge of VT guitars.

Never been a big fan of it personally, but I get why people love it.

Ghost of a Chance has one of Alex's best guitar solos

 

It's fine. It doesn't compare to most of his other solos for me. I've just never been a big fan of most of Roll The Bones in general.
