(on spotify) Listen.......the playing is Rush to a tee (obviously) but the Vocals are pure pop and the lyrics and songwriting are NOWHERE NEAR Rush. i actually really liked this album a lot. they are doing ENOUGH different to gain my fandom. And I am cool with any band that is influenced by great bands like Rush. I just think if your going to write originals......have an original sound. Not a carbon copy of your heroes. Fake news. As covered earlier, Greta copies, YYNOT flavors. You can't really imagine Rush writing and recording any of YYNOT's songs whereas it's easy to imagine Zeppelin writing and recording Greta's songs. That's the distinction. Have you heard the new one yet? It's on Spotify. Can you listen to that and honestly say it's a carbon copy of Rush? You are totally not understanding what I am talking about. Let me spell it out for you. THE SONIC REPRESENTATION IS A CARBON COPY OF ALEX LIFESON AND GEDDY LEE"S sound not song writing. They are using almost to a tee the sounds that come out of the amplifiers and the style of their playing to almost a tee. I don't think Rush would ever write the songs they are writing. Take that as you will, lol Mick I love both. Its just trendy to knock Greta. no they kinda suck. Mick Regreta sucks a skunk's anus. YYNOT isn't the greatest band in the world but they are very talented and I enjoy them. Just went on their site and bought an autographed cd. 1000 limited. I dig YYNOT. And really... Why why not? Lot's of other shit out there. I could do without her vocals but at least she can sing better than Geddy can in 2019. I love "Chemical Burn." They're sort of reflective of some of Neil's more character driven songs of mid-career Rush, i.e., The Pass, War Paint, Nobody's Hero. Those songs had sympathetic qualities toward their subjects. Wildest Dreams and Heart and Soul have really grown on me in particular. I like it better too. I like the first one but the second feels more cohesive in the writing and playing. There's a sense of band and material unity. The fact that it was written as an album from the start has a lot to do with that. The songs and production are stellar. In fact, the production sound is major label city. It's certainly superior to anything Nick R ever did with Rush and with VT it's no contest. This album just keeps giving the more you listen to it.
