Principled Man
Robinson played for five teams from 1956 to 1976, and became the only player to win the MLB Most Valuable Player Award in both the National League and American League. He won the Triple Crown, was a member of two teams that won the World Series (the 1966 and 1970 Baltimore Orioles), and amassed the fourth-most career home runs at the time of his retirement (he is currently 10th). He was the first black manager in MLB history. Robinson was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1982. http://i.ebayimg.com/images/i/130596883166-0-1/s-l1000.jpg http://geoffreyslive.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/frank-robinson-9460731-2-raw-620x420.jpg Edited February 7, 2019 by Principled Man
blueschica
He was a huge presence in my baseball loving childhood! I'm so sorry to hear this. R.I.P., Frank.
laughedatbytime
Probably one of the 20 greatest players in history, and he did it at a time where he had to put up with a lot of bullshit just to play. The world is a better place because he lived, and lived the way he did. Rest in peace, Mr. Robinson.
Principled Man
I grew up in Reds country, but Frank was a few years before my time. I was 4 years old when the Reds traded him to Baltimore - one of the greatest BLUNDERS in all of Baseball history. The Reds' owner was a FOOL .....

Narps
Growing up in the Washington DC area and being born in 1960 I had the Senators and Orioles for the first 11 years of my life. Being obsessed with baseball and my dad loving the game as well we attended Senators games in my early childhood. Once they moved away where did we go to watch professional baseball? Memorial Stadium Baltimore. I was never really an O's fan per se but damn they had great teams in those days. My dad loved to get as much baseball as possible for his money so we would mostly go to scheduled double headers or double headers due to rain outs. One such double header was the second game of a double header when Robinson hit his 500th homerun. It's a memory that is etched in my brain forever. I also had one of my birthday parties at Memorial Stadium and received a signed ball from the team that I still have today. Who's signed that ball for me in beautiful blue ink? Frank Robinson...RIP big guy Edited February 8, 2019 by Narps

Aaron, Ruth, Mays, Pujols, Griffey, Thome, Robinson.
