Red3angel
What am I hearing around The 1:07 mark on the twighlight zone? You may need headphones
JARG
What am I hearing around The 1:07 mark on the twighlight zone? You may need headphones If you're talking the noise that's at about the 1:11 mark in this vid, that's just some string noise; sounds like it's on the acoustic track. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qr2NRY3HG48 Edited March 29, 2018 by JARG

Alien Girl
That 'clink' sound? Yeah, I think it's what JARG and Lucas said. String change quirk...nothing weird, though I don't agree it's intentional...just not problematic enough to take it off the recording track. Planet X-1
Considering the topic and placement in the song, I always thought it was intentionally left in as a 'happy accident'.

Perhaps the choice to not correct it was intentional, though. I can imagine Alex hearing how noisy it was while playing the part and thinking, "we can bury it in the mix" or "the rest of my performance on this track is going really well -- that little flub isn't worth stopping for". Or maybe nobody noticed until they were mixing it and the consensus was "no one will notice" or maybe, "that sounds really cool, let's not bury it!" Wil1972
I think JARG and Lucas are on the right track. Always felt it was left in intentionally. Edited March 29, 2018 by Wil1972
Relayer2112
It sounds like a flub which ended up left in the song as a joke. It's possible that Alex started the riff that follows a little early on one of the takes.

Similar to Robert Plant's phantom "S-..." in the Immigrant Song (but less cool).

Lucas
This reminded me of the discussion a while back about the noise during the intro to "I Think I'm Going Bald" - "scream" at the :14 point .. I definitely think this was Geddy's voice, probably run thru some of the same gear he used for the bass in By Tor and The Necromancer ... I remember some thought it was a pick scrape by Alex, but I definitely think it's Geddy's voice http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rc52vCJ83LA

No seriously, I think it was
tangy
Champion... I think the funniest background noise is the airplane flying overhead on black country woman by zep.
