Hell no. It sounds like Tull to me, though Steel Monkey is a bit ZZ Topish. Martin does put his Knopfler hat on here and there, but hey he was just reacting to the times here. A fine album.

Can I also put my hat in for A being a pretty good release. Its probably my number 12/13. But even that is better than most guys....for me.

Viva le Tull.

That's about where it ranks for me as well. Fylingdale Flyer is outstanding.

Side 1 is excellent imo. Side 2 is interesting and not completely successful. It probably shouldn't have been a Tull album.

I used to commute into NYC by train then ferry. On some cold winter mornings, with the sun rising over the Manhattan skyline, I would stand outside the ferry ( and freeze my ass off ) with my iphone / earbuds on and this song was on my 10 minute ferry ride playlist. Oh, Tool - Disposition was the second song.

My #1, it's an amazing album.

Btw, picked up 'The Music of Jethro Tull, played by The London Symphony Orchestra" on vinyl last week. It's from 1985, on RCA.

The band are on it also, it's really f***ing good. David Palmer conducted.

I'm not too familiar with Broadsword or Too Old. Passion Play never stuck with me. Neither did This Was.

Not crazy about the 80's Tull I've heard. I do really like Roots to Branches though!

What to listen to next
