Money For Nothing is one of my favorite songs.

The only other song I remember at the moment that they did was Sultans of Swing. Can't think of any others.

hey you know Money for nothing has my idol Sting on it....... :laughing guy:

Making Movies.Tunnel of Love=Pure Class.

Mark Knopfler solo is well worth a listen to! Sailing to Philadelphia is highly recommended!

Does it really? I never knew that. Is that him singing "I want my MTV" at the end?

Yeah, Tunnel of Love, Romeo & Juliet, and Skateaway make a perfect album side. Sailing to Philadelphia has the title track and What It Is as a great album opener. The balance of the album is enjoyable, but quirky. Here's What It Is...classic Knopfler riffs.

Honestly I'm surprised to see they had so many albums.

they can be the price of having a smash album..........public might tend to think it's your debut, lol

So many people think Springsteen started with BITUSA.

Others think Nightwish started with Once.

It gets annoying.

I might try this band again.

Try this on for size...

When James Taylor comes in...his voice is so perfect it gives me chills.

Great tune Goose......actually great album.

Mick

Baloney Again, right now. I agree that it's a strong effort. A casual fan could own it and have all the Knopfler they need, I think. Edited by goose

Making Movies is actually very close to Springsteen's vibe.....i think it's the production.

I bought this when it came out...it brings back memories of geting back to Rio after living in São Paulo for a few years. My then-girlfriend loved this album.

Communique

I wasn't the only one impressed when this came out. Bob Dylan was straight on the phone begging Mark Knopfler to collaborate on his next album. Robert Plant nabbed drummer Pick Withers for his second solo album.

Communique is the only DS album I have really liked from start to finish. The track News is particularly great.

I had no idea until a moment ago (thanks, Wikipedia) that our local Telegraph Road here in northwest Ohio/southwest Michigan is the one that inspired the song of the same name. Of course I'll have to play the song next time I travel on it
