This movie is one of my all- time favorites in that I can watch it over and over again. It has a clever plot, it’s humorous and very entertaining.

I can point to this as the movie that started my obsession with horror films ... I was probably 7 or 8, and my Dad agreed that we'd stay awake one weekend night and catch it on late night TV ... My Dad fell asleep about 15 minutes in, and I was left alone to experience it .... Even though I felt terrified and it disturbed me, I found it so much fun to watch ..

 

It really is a low budget masterpiece - the shadows and vibe are incredible

How about the 1968 Night Of The Living Dead ?? ... There is obvious sentiment attached to it for me, but it is just so sparse and grim .. Granted, a lot of that has to do with budget and the limited filming locations which were available ..

I really liked this movie. I thought it was better than Saving Private Ryan as far as WW2 movies go simply because it had more of a story. Both were very gritty and realistic as far as transporting the viewer onto a battlefield.

I remember my parents going to see Cuckoo's Nest in the theater ... It was one of the first times I can remember staying with a babysitter ( this hot neighbor girl ) ..... anyways, I remember my parents coming back and talking about how great the movie was - esp my Mom ... She was very moved by it .... When it came out on VHS, I remember seeing it for the first time, and the ending really got to me - it was very very moving .. I can imagine my Mom in the theater circa 1975 sobbing at the end
