  1. There is a poll covering every other aspect of the tour and album...why not one on that topic?
  2. Since CA is such a hard rocking album for the most part and they plan to play most of it, I think that they might try to keep the entire show a little harder rocking than most recent tours have been. I think they are going to bring back some of the really hard rocking older stuff which would make this one pretty heavy rocking show. Could this be their heaviest rocking show since the early eighties or maybe even the late seventies? Not sure...but I am willing to bet that Alex will fart at least 5 times during each stop on the tour. Shall we have a poll on that?
  3. QUOTE (Finding IT @ Jun 24 2012, 08:42 PM) If Rush is your favorite band, wouldn't they be 10 by default? Not really....Rush is my favorite band but they have had put out some cruddy material over the years. Have no missed a tour of theirs since MP. Will ever miss a tour of theirs neither. However....
  4. 7 AC/DC - put out good stuff after good rockin' stuff Lynyrd Skynyrd - would have blown anyone away IMO if that tragedy did not take place. Look at all the tunes they put out in the few short years they produced albums. VERY few bands can compare to that. Iron Maiden still produce great music - they know how to treat their fans Led Zep., Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones..... The list goes on. There are bands that are pure junk after a couple of albums, but likewise, there are other bands that keep putting out good stuff. Sorry....Rush has a decent catalog and that is about it... IMO.
  5. Marillion (first US tour date in Buffalo, NY) or Max Webster...cannot pick one over the other...

    F*** U, Usher!

QUOTE (trenken @ Jul 5 2012, 03:22 PM) QUOTE (metaldad @ Jul 5 2012, 02:11 PM) Don't blame Usher for Americas shitty taste in music There are millions of people that think we have shit taste for listening to bands like Rush. It's a 2 way street. +1
  7. QUOTE (Alexmai @ Jul 4 2012, 05:20 AM) The live version of Bravado is my favourite... waiting for the Live Garden +1
  8. Opted for the o Not Want....... Seriously - Is there a secret prize for the dumbest thread started on TRF? If so, can I start "How many times a day do you think Lerxst farts?" threaf?
  9. QUOTE (rushgoober @ Jul 1 2012, 12:11 PM) If by skippable you mean one of the best songs on the album and a truly great track, then yes, The Wreckers is "skippable." The Wreckers should have easily been the first single - catchy, accessible - a great, great latter day Rush track. +1
  10. QUOTE (Priest of Syrinx @ Jul 1 2012, 01:01 AM) I think it's one of the better tracks on CA. +1
  11. QUOTE (AddictedRushian @ Jun 25 2012, 11:24 AM) I paid for 2 tickets to see Rush this October. To hear they're going to bring a mini orchestra is incredible! I think this is a superb idea! I know there is a poll on where they should be placed during the concerts but I am still worried about them playing too much. I know Rush will do a great job in making sure they don't get overshadowed by the strings but I'm still a little iffy about bringing other musicians to play with them on their tour... I kind of feel like I just want to see Ged, Alex and Neil and those 3 only... PS. This is my first post in this forum! Dear OP, What is there to worry about? It's . I have more important things to worry about than what three guys from Canada are bringing with them on tour. Thanks! Unworried
  12. CA is OK...will never have a spot in my cd changer. Will pull it out once in awhile to hear it but that is about it.
  13. Wow...my 9-year old has found a new place to gather humor - a discussion forum whereby "adults" exchange opinions about a particular collection of music. Ps ~ the name calling is priceless....
  14. GUP and PoW are much better than CA. That is merely an opinion......
  15. QUOTE (Gompers @ Jun 18 2012, 08:04 AM) Good thing that is just opinion, Tickster. S&A still ranks over CA with me. S&A is much more dynamic. While CA is in your face, S&A is easier to listen to start to finish without wall of sound mix issues. You can hear Alex's guitar much more clearly as well as Neil's drums. CA is very good, but to me, it just doesn't top S&A as a complete release. +1
  16. My SO and child bought CA for me for Father's Day...I know...I know I was not going to listen to any of the tracks until 9/11. I am taking the SO to her first ever Rush concert and now she is really talkling it up after hearing various tracks of CA. I must admit, I never did see this coming.....
  17. QUOTE (metaldad @ Jun 7 2012, 02:00 PM) QUOTE (drgrendel @ Jun 7 2012, 12:58 PM) I like Iron Maiden's approach to their music - share it and spread it all around. And they know people will still buy it when it is released +1 BINGO!!!!!!!! We got a winner!!!!!!!!
  18. Nothing is ever sacred - this applies to everyone and everything. Once an idea is set into motion, it is bound to be discovered by somebody. Feel bad about it? Nope...life is a game. I like Iron Maiden's approach to their music - share it and spread it all around (Dance of Death/Got Great Ed... promotional tour - Cleveland, OH. - Motorhead, DIO, and IM).
  19. Dear Lord, I know that I have not been the best, but please, no full CA on this tour....PLEASE?????????????????????????????????? My guess is the the majority of the folks attending the upcoming shows will not have listened to anything from CA - a string of CA tunes together will just have unpeasant consequences - IMO of course.
  20. wow.....so glad I don't think like you! I feel the same....your point? If we all thought alike it would be a very boring world.
  21. From what I understand there is not an instrumental on this effort. I look forward to Rush Instrumentals so this is a big downer for me. Purchasing CA becomes even less probable now.
  22. I voted S&A only because it is new. Typically, most things are better new until they get old. The lack of an instrumental is really disappointing to me. I look forward to those much more than the vocals of Geddy.
  23. A third option might have been - "Yes - can wait to listen even beyond official release date." Or... A fourth might have been - "May not listen to it at all until my show date "(assuming one is going) Or... A fifth - "Not interested in listening to new Rush at all."
  24. There shoulod be a poll asking, "How many meaningless, albeit stupid, polls will be posted regarding CA?"
