  1. People are not incorrect here. The issues you dealt with in Montreal...I've dealt with in Toronto. My R30 show at the Molson Amptheatre was one of the worst concert experiences of my life. People wouldn't stop telling people to sit down...I watched guys in our section try to stand for even a few minutes...only to have garbage tossed at them to "sit down". It was embarrassing for me, as a Rush fan. I got told by the couple behind me to "stop rocking out"...followed by security doing the same. I offered to switch seats with them...and they declined...only to miss a bunch of the show. It was insane. Since then...I've tried to only focus on Floor Seats in the hopes that I could stand freely without people being ridiculous. Anyway...I've been going to every Toronto show (ACC and Amptheatre) since Vapor Trails...and I do believe that the crowds (at times), could be considered "lame". Not everyone...but I can understand why people say it. I've watched it unfold, in some cases. Wow that's horrible. I've had the same experience where people declined to switch seats but never throw garbage. I've also aimed for floor seats since my bad experience but I had no luck this tour.
  2. I'm surprised so many people are saying that the Toronto crowd sucks. The first time I saw Rush was the Time Machine tour at the Air Canada Center. I had reds in one of the far back sections in the corner and the crowd seemed to be having a great time all of the way through. Not once was I ever told to sit down. Meanwhile in Montreal I had fantastic seats during that same tour. everyone I could see not on the floor sat for the vast majority of it, my buddy was threatened with violence by the quarterback looking guy next to him if he didn't sit down and I had an older gentlemen pestering me to do the same in back of me.
  3. Complaining about the fast and furious movies to have more than fast cars doing over the top things is like going to a Michael Bay movie and complaining that there was nothing more than some context for 1 hour + of explosions. I haven't seen the last few movies but I have enjoyed the ones I did see. I'm hoping Vin takes that money and uses it to fund some more Riddick. I loved the last one.
  4. Looks like a fun action movie. I look forward to seeing it. For those of you who have seen the movie, do I need to watch the originals?
  5. There are other bands besides Rush? Inconceivable!
  6. The setlist is absolutely incredible. They just get better every night.
  7. I hate that line of thinking. While I'd love to attend multiple shows I lack the means for such a road trip. I can only go to one show and I'm sure I'm not in the minority for that. I was really glad the Time Machine tour only had one set because I knew what I was getting and I was pretty damn happy with it.
  8. I personally prefer all of the changes from last night. While I love Red Barchetta, I don't really like DeW
  9. I hope they cut out a lot of those. I really don't want them to touch the second half of the set. I think the only one I'd be okay with that people have mentioned here is Jacob's for Nat Sci.
  10. Controlled leaks are nothing new. They're fantastic ways of generating hype. It's neither strange, funny or ironic. It is good marketing.
  11. That's hilarious. I really want them to post R40 merch on the site so I can order this goddamn tourbook already.
  12. The weapon is code name for Tom Sawyer. It's a marketing weapon. :)
  13. Be nice. It's a decent article with one error. Pfft. Maybe it's just me but IMO it's pretty bad journalism if you make a mistake that could easily have been corrected by visiting the relevant official site and/or wikipedia page. This is a news paper and not some Joe Blow blog.
  14. It just occurred to me that maybe that's how they want us to remember them. Rush, like every other band (really, how many times, if ever, have you heard any band say they like their old songs better than their new ones???), thinks their most recent album is the best yet. I agree but I'd like at least 2 tracks they haven't played in a very long time or not played at all. There are no deep cuts aside from Jacob's Ladder. The rest of the set is just their greatest hits. The CA tour was fantastic with how many cool songs they pulled out. Can't we have a tiny iota of that played every night?
  15. I'm really hoping that most of this is just stuff playing in video clips. What happened when Alex said they really dug deep? This is the setlist I'd imagine them playing if they were going to be a nostalgia band and just bring out old tunes. Also, as much as I love CA, there are way too many CA songs for a farewell tour.
  16. And that's one of the reasons why I loved it. It's a much more serious version of the original and it assumes you know and understand the setup so it just throws you into plot.
  17. http://i1.wp.com/bitcast-a-sm.bitgravity.com/slashfilm/wp/wp-content/images/International-Avengers-Age-of-Ultron-Poster-700x989.jpg?resize=700%2C989 Horribly photoshopped poster, fantastic movie.
  18. Sadly he wasn't in the episode of Corner Gas where Colin James and The Tragically Hip showed up. So many famous Canadians appeared on that show but not a single member of Rush...
  19. This is great. When I used to watch TV I'd only care about Space and Discovery (which they seriously need to rename nowadays). I know a few of my friends will likely just have the channel which airs Game of Thrones.
  20. Great idea. Too bad you have to jailbreak your phone to be able to use it. THERE'S A MOBILE VERSION OF THIS?! I thought it was mac/PC only. It makes sense though that an ios version needs a jailbreak. Apple doesn't want apps changing anything outside of the app itself.
  21. I discovered this great program a few days ago: https://justgetflux.com/ Note: not recommended for students because it works as intended. It makes you sleepy naturally thanks to making your screen not like the sun so it becomes difficult to work past midnight. Keep it off to trick your body into working until 3am.
  22. This little joke: A Stormtrooper and a Red Shirt get into a firefight. The Stormtrooper misses every shot, and the Red Shirt still dies.
  23. Transistor. It's a game made by the same people who made Bastion. The visuals are beautiful, the music is incredible, the world is fantastic and the combat is so so satisfying. The function system allows for so many different play styles which are mostly if not all viable. I'm shocked that the game actually makes it such that there are both advantages and disadvantages to using the turn based vs realtime systems. It's one of the best game I've played in a long time.
  24. I love that they sped up the speed of the fighting. The cutscenes look great... too bad they had to put in QTEs. Why am I not allowed to just put down my controller and enjoy cutscenes any more?
  25. I recommended going to a smaller electronics store for exactly that reason. You don't have to build it yourself. They'll do it for you. I'm not sure what's going on with your computer but once you install windows 8.1 you should only have to install one more set of updates and that's it.
