  1. Decided to revisit Kansas after watching Miracles. Got into them in HS when Power (which I still like) came out, but havent since. Always knew about Left and POKR, and really think Monolith is great/underrated. But just checked out AudioVisions and really liking it -- good top to bottom. You guys have any other specific album recs?
  2. If they opened with Xanadu there's an excellent chance I'd pass out on the spot.
  3. You've basically just taken my favorite songs, minus Mystic Rhythms. HA... Just looked at your list-- Signals is my favorite album & I love CX-1 and BTW. Different strokes.... We agree on Mystic Rhythms  I *never* understood what people saw in that tune.
  4. The next, and likely last, live package will be R40.
  5. The opener should be 2112 Overture-Temples. Would hate to see some R30 type medley.
  6. Unfortunately, what I do think may be accurate about this setlist is the inevitable 3-4 Clockwork Angels tunes.
  7. All personal favorites: Losing It Kid Gloves Cinderella Man Necromancer Lessons Twilight Zone Vital Signs Chemistry Emotion Detector Red Lenses (seriously)

  9. Garden (top of the list- most overrated) Dreamline Pass Manhattan Project Mystic Rhythms Mission Between Sun and Moon Headlong Flight Far Cry Ghost Rider
  10. I'll always have a fondness for this album as it brought me back to the band. Stopped listening after PoW frustrated by the deluge of synth on HYF, and opted out of the 87-88 tour (the only one outside of CP that Ive missed since 82). The return to a guitar driven sound was a welcome surprise, and the songs, while not top tier, were certainly enjoyable enough. I viewed it as a comeback of sorts, and the tour was great, esp Xanadu. So not a great Rush album for me, but certainly a good one. And better than any of the post Counterparts output for sure.
  11. 10 will make it in: Sub Limelight Sawyer Trees will return LVS Barchetta will return Spirit Overture Syrinx Working man (unfortunately, dont need to hear this again)
  12. Foxtrot Trick of the Tail Selling England Lamb Wind and Wuthering Honorable mention: S/T (shapes)
  13. I really dig this tune....love the entire Grace album. The last in an amazing stretch of top to bottom perfect early 80s albums (Permanent Waves through GUP), in my view.
  14. Actually love the 80's synth through Grace Under Pressure. And Signals is my favorite Rush album. Think the drop off (in song quality/synth sound) started after that with PoW. (IMO) I can dig that. It became far more sequenced, colder, more horn blasting etc. But it was very relevant during that time frame 85-87. I happen to love a lot of it. It is an acquired taste (much like Rush is in general) for sure. Yep.. want to add that I *do* like material on PoW and HYF, just significantly less than the early 80s material, which i love.

  16. Embarrassing use of synths, lack of energy, lack of melody... it tries to do the "atmosphere" thing but it relies so much on cheesy sounds that it just makes me feel like I'm stuck in a really bad casio. This... and the song goes nowhere.
  17. Lucky. Its killing me that Im not going to see Marco here in DC in May. Sure the show will still be great, but man.
  18. The worst is that bird synthesized bird sound at the 3:20 mark. Was used on a ton of 80s pop songs during the time. Rough. The goose call! Ha! yes a goose! So bad.
  19. Prob due to filler on most of these long(er) albums. I personally prefer the 8 song album myself.
