  1. A online friend of mine recommended Rush, since I was into prog rock. I took Test For Echo out of the library, and was stunned by it. I went out and purchased each album on CD after that. It was 1999.
  2. For me that goes to Time and Motion, for the odd 5/8 time signature and just the overall strange sound of the song, which used to be the norm for them, but became extremely rare as they got older. Time and Motion is pretty god awful musically. It has incredible lyrics, but the music and the melody is not to my taste.
  3. 1. A Farewell To Kings 2. Power Windows 3. Moving Pictures 4. Grace Under Pressure 5. Counterparts It's been that way for a while, and probably will stay that way. And if it wasn't for the dense production, 2112 would be up there somewhere.
  4. Lyrically and musically, this is one of my favorites. Other than Resist, best song on Test For Echo.
  5. I've heard that the vinyl copy sounds better than the cd copy. Is that true?
  6. I had a best friend from middle school who recently overdosed on heroin. He was also 31. Drugs are really, really bad. I've always avoided them, because I never wanted to die an early death. Coffee is the worst drug I do. Anyway, RIP. My sister loves Glee. I don't care for it, but sad news anyway.
  7. There are so many weirdos on the internet. I'd just ignore it. But you really need to make your profile private. I got lots of strange messages before I changed my privacy settings.
  8. I thought the artwork was lame, but I have a good feeling about the music. After the last two albums, they are on a roll musically.
  9. It's really sad and pathetic. I thought RS was supposed to be for music? This is as bad as MTV and VH1 becoming reality tv stations, and having music never being played.
  10. His voice isn't as terrible as I would have thought. If you want to hear a terrible voice by a kickass guitar player, try Mike Rutherford. I love his solo album, but can't get past the voice.
  11. I've always wondered about this cover, and it's interesting to hear the analysis behind it. I've never noticed how many things are "waves" in that cover.
  12. That's so sick. I can't believe someone would name their band that. Joke or not.
  13. I read this on Facebook...I think it's so awesome. What an experience!
  14. I'm still not convinced it's not a satire piece.
  15. I'm young. The oldest one is from the Vapor Trails tour.
  16. A movie called Missing on Netflix. Terrible, scripted acting, over gory effects, and not scary at all. It was actually surprising that I got all the way through it.
  17. I've only heard the 97 remaster, and it is very, very clear.
  18. I'm pretty sure this isn't the end. They will probably at least do two more albums.
  19. I was a bit older, but I remember discovering Rush at the age of 16, and being blown away. I just remember thinking they were so cool, and I couldn't understand why everyone in my high school was listening to N'Stink and Britney Spears. I tried my best to convert all of my friends, but a lot of them thought Rush was weird and couldn't understand them. It's good to see a new generation having Rush tunes passed down. I became a fan in between Test For Echo and Vapor Trails, so hopefully there will be another story in ten years, along the same lines. ;)

    Any Demos?

No, I don't think they had many demos out there. At least, leaked.
  21. I think the main reason I liked it, and the reason I like Vapor Trails as well, is because it's a guitar led album, as opposed to a keyboard led album. I love 80's Rush, but they were heavy on the keyboards. Counterparts was a return to the early heavy stuff, and I enjoy that.
  22. That's really sad that that happened. I hope they manage to work it out.
  23. They had even more special effects in 2002, when I saw them.
