  1. QUOTE (Hatchetaxe&saw @ Sep 20 2012, 01:06 PM) QUOTE (ReGorLaTroy @ Sep 20 2012, 05:23 PM) Rush - A Farewell to Kings Bob Dylan - Street Legal The Alarm - Declaration Queen - A Night at the Opera The Ramones - End of the Century Street Legal??? Fascinating choice. I love it, but so many Dylanologists dismiss it out of hand. Senor is the business. "Street Legal" contains some of the most amazing lyrics Dylan (or anyone else) has ever written. Musically, it is fantastic start to finish. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/5/5e/Bob_Dylan_-_Street-Legal.jpg
  2. Don Knotts - The Ghost and Mr. Chicken
  3. I get the feeling that they will strip things down to a bare bones, straight ahead rock record with that "Rush" touch.
  4. I've met Alex and Geddy four times and each time they were very kind, very gracious...great sense of humour. I've also met David Lee Roth, right before "A Different Kind of Truth" came out. He was so down to earth and we spoke for a few minutes. Time must have mellowed him. When finished speaking, he shook my hand and said "thank you for coming, I hope you like the new record, it was so nice meeting you". He even used my name in conversation, which I though was a nice touch to remember. But the coolest, nicest (famous) person that I've met was Alice Cooper. Just a great guy, very humble and personable.
  5. QUOTE (rushgoober @ Jun 20 2005, 03:15 PM) seriously, it's been really nice to have all the non-rush music in one place since random samples isn't alway serious, and the music threads often tend to drift off into page 2 olbivion - here they stay lots longer. also, rush is but one of my very many musical passions, so it's nice to be able to discuss other musics here too. three cheers for music of the spheres! Agreed, this is one my most favourite places to visit online.
  6. Sadly, this long awaited release falls flat. Our dear Mr. Harris would have sold more albums if he hadn't given the preview. Disappointed to say the least.
  7. Rush - A Farewell to Kings Bob Dylan - Street Legal The Alarm - Declaration Queen - A Night at the Opera The Ramones - End of the Century

    Signals

QUOTE (Powderfinger @ Sep 19 2012, 05:32 PM) I completely reject the notion that Signals was a major departure for Rush. That narrative is in serious need of revision. I'm convinced that too many fans have allowed that assertion to cloud their judgment of the record. It is a beautifully written, performed, and produced album. I'd elaborate if I had time. Agreed... ...a great next step in the band's evolution at the time. A highly under rated album from any band.
  10. QUOTE (Smug Monkey @ Sep 19 2012, 06:38 PM) Those are utterly fantastic! Makes me even more excited for the Columbus show. Less than 24 hours away now. Thanks for the great pics! Enjoy your show Smug Monkey!

  12. Sweet...Trilogy...can't wait until 14 December!!!!
  13. Finished it today... ...the further I got into it, the better I liked it. Don't want to give away the ending, so all I can say is, enjoy.

  15. I went with... "Rush - Studio Vault Edition (alternate solo)" ...just love it!
  16. I'm just at the half way mark and the story is starting to heat up a bit. There is a simplicity to the book that reminds me of The Alchemist or even The Wizard of Oz, with a bit of The Hobbit thrown in for good measure. I keep getting that, "there's no place like home feeling", or "how I long to be back at The Shire". There is a lesson here...I'm finding that I don't quite know who to root for. Pretty enjoyable read so far.
  17. QUOTE (Chicken hawk @ Sep 15 2012, 12:04 PM) Best variety show ever ! LOVE RUSH I was just going to post the very same thing! So true, the guys in Rush have a great sense of humour!
  18. I was at a store and a young lady behind the counter said, "Dude, I love your Rush shirt!" I was wearing the "Test For Echo" shirt with the wolf on the front. I took it off right there and gave it to her. Note: I was wearing a long sleeved shirt under it at the time.
