  1. QUOTE (Janie @ Jun 26 2011, 11:09 PM) QUOTE (workingcinderellaman @ Apr 13 2011, 12:17 PM) QUOTE (ILSnwdog @ Apr 13 2011, 12:26 PM) QUOTE (Janie @ Apr 13 2011, 10:47 AM) I'm a SAHM (stay-at-home-mom). I wipe butts for a living. There is no more noble a profession than butt wiper. The future is truly in their hands. Adding, "Professional Stain Remover" to my resume. Also, my Dr. Seuss vocabulary is rapidly expanding. Jane I Am. I do wipe butts and remove stains. Do you have stains perhaps from Great Danes? Or maybe in your Hanes? Kill me now. Wait til they like Captain Underpants, SpongeBob (maybe one does already), Junie B. Jones, I Spy books and NO David!...yow. Dr. Seuss is a walk in the park. But maybe you'll enjoy the humor in these instead of the constant social commentary of Dr. Seuss.
  2. oh, I must visit the bookstore. This soooo much like first grade humor, which is what I teach(first grade, with a sense of humor). I must have at least one Walter book for fall.
  3. We've only had a couple of really hot days, and it was a long, cold winter up here! I have not yet begun to warm up enough to endure another one! It also appears to be monsoon season up here again. We've been getting torrential rains all day. Bring on the sun.
  4. QUOTE (rushlady23 @ Jun 21 2011, 04:03 PM) Since when do Amish people have cell phones? It's getting pretty common, especially for business owners. But really, During an Amish person's running around time, before they join the church, they can have them if their parents don't object. However, I'm sure his parents would object to this in a BIG way!
  5. Well maybe Alex will send me one.
  6. Thanks again everyone. It was a good day!
  7. Thanks everyone. By the way, life begins at 50!
  8. Clawdius! That is so cute!
  9. My first thread was: "The Hang Out" now in it's second edition.
  10. You needed a third option: Can you tell that school is out for the Summer in many places? When the bored children find something else to do...we'll have something else to complain about.
  11. QUOTE (Ghost of a Rider @ May 31 2011, 03:18 PM) "Lick me once, shame on you. Lick me twice, shame on me. Lick me thrice, don't stop now!" ok GOAR, you're the winner!
  12. My take is that he'll tape it at the drum channel studios some time while they are on break, and the tape will be shown.
  13. Gee, I haven't won in a long time, but then I haven't played in a long time. Here's the next one: http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg84/nettiesaur/Icecreamcone.jpg
  14. QUOTE (tick @ May 28 2011, 04:48 PM) I walked down to my basement about 3 hour ago to discover my freezer door was ajar. I open the door and its totally soaked in there! All my meat, ice cream, frozen foods pretty much completely thawed! I am throwing around a few F bombs realizing I left the freezer door open yesterday and probably ruined quite a bit of meat and thus quite a bit of money. So I check the stuff and find its not completely thawed out. Its actually at the stage where I would start to cook it. So what was I to do? Well, at this moment, I have 5 pork loin roasts in a crock pot to make pulled pork. A 6 pound Chicken in my rotisserie. A family pack of wings in the oven for buffalo wings. A bunch of seasoned pork chops on the grill. A bunch of split chicken breasts on my other grill. A 20 pound Turkey still defrosting to be cooked tomorrow. I am doing my best to make a bad situation as good as possible what man what a couple of hours the last two have been. I need another beer!!! I'm assuming that you plan to put the cooked(once it's cooled and been bagged) food in the freezer and close the door this time, right?
  15. From a teacher's standpoint here: A little tip: Let your son's second grade teacher know about the situation before school begins, if you can. He or She may be able to set up some good situations for him, or at least watch for bullying. I had 3 children this year who were new to the school. Now, at the end of the year, you wouldn't know that they had been new in the fall. I set them up with children who had similar personalities, and they bloomed(they were all very shy). Kudos on your decision to move him. Those classes are much too small.
  16. I'm screening the letters my little students wrote to each other, (and the teachers) and giggling. They are so cute! The mailbox in my classroom was stuffed to the top. They don't have to do this, it's a choice during writing time. I'm just screening for appropriate content. They did a great job! edited to say: and my cousin the marine is back from Afghanistan and safe after his second tour in the war zone!
  17. It was 86 degrees and sunny for most of the day. Of course we have thunderstorms tonight, but boy did it feel good to be outside today!
  18. School is not out until June 14th. Then you will see me in here all of the time, correcting your grammar.
  19. Dear Certain Militant Republican family member, Teachers did not cause the economic disaster. We're trying to cope with it too. Posting how I shouldn't get the small salary I receive after teaching for over 25 years, just because you have to pay taxes is an insane argument. Someone paid taxes so that your children could be educated...now it's your turn. Lay off! Thank you. Your older sister.
  20. Dear Powers that be, that own the Mall across the street: When you design one whole level of the mall for kids and teenagers(with all of their favorite stores), and put the theater up there, kids and teenagers are going to come to the mall and hang out up there. What made you think they wouldn't ACT like kids and teenagers? Now we have the announcement over the public address system that all unaccompanied minors will have to leave the mall at a certain time. You can then legally kick out the kids and teenagers. Lovely Planning there people. Just lovely! What next, a walking track for the elderly that is open from 10 p.m. to midnight?

  22. QUOTE (Good, bad, andrush @ Apr 25 2011, 06:52 PM) QUOTE (nettiesaur @ Apr 25 2011, 05:19 PM) Dear teens and twenties who: Drink too much alcohol, Do drugs, Drive fast in cars Drive fast on motorcycles, and without gear, and do other reckless stuff because you think you have 100 lives. YOU DON'T!! and now I have to go to your funeral because you overdosed, and console my friend, who is your mother because you couldn't figure this out before you died. Anybody else out there who does this stuff, knock it off! My nephew has seen 4 of his friends die in the past two years. I'm tired of talented young people killing themselves by doing reckless sh!T. We need you in this world. Find a better way to express yourselves. Thank you for this It's Saturday night. Think about this before you go out to party, o.k.? This kid's funeral was today. I hate to be a downer, but if it saves your life, so be it.
