  1. QUOTE (Cyclonus X-1 @ Jul 22 2012, 12:25 PM) My vote goes to Married... with Children. That was a true comedic titan.
  2. QUOTE (iluvgeddy05 @ Jul 21 2012, 01:42 PM) I received my shipping notice for my tickets and I believe in the past, they arrived in a flat cardboard envelope that was quite large. Naturally, I was expecting the same type of situation... Not this time. I just opened a piece of mail that has only a return PO box on the envelope, my address and nothing else. Umm, I could have easily thrown this away thinking it was junk mail. Good thing I didn't, right? So, just a heads up...you might want to check you mail more carefully after getting your shipping notice! I know what you mean , I almost threw away my Porcupine Tree tickets once. Got my Rush ticket today and knew what to expect this time.
  3. Not my favorite album but gotta have the DVD.
  4. Iron Maiden , Alice Cooper and a severe thunderstorm = AWESOME SHOW !!
  5. QUOTE (metaldad @ Jul 18 2012, 09:42 AM) I can't wait for this. I have always thought the production was crap . Great songs on a really bad sounding album. I wish they would have done with Destroyer what Floyd did with DSOTM,The Wall and WYWH, the big box set . I do think Kramer was The man for Kiss Kramer as OK ... I'll take Ezrin every time , but I'm a sucker for sound effects.. This was my favorite Kiss album followed by Revenge (wasn't that Ezrin too?).
  6. QUOTE (Tick @ Jul 17 2012, 05:23 PM) QUOTE (nappy2112 @ Jul 17 2012, 05:16 PM) I could see them taking a year or so off but not 5 . Maybe then they could come up with something new instead of making the same album over and over. Unfair. Don't think that's the case at all. The new album is stellar, imo. I didn't say it was bad , I just think they can be way more creative than that. I enjoyed Outcry and Breaking All Illusions. The rest was just meh.

  8. QUOTE (Akron162 @ Jul 16 2012, 02:55 PM) Pull out a project like that is amazing. Who is that guy, Billy Sherwood, by the way. I mean, you just cant send a score to Alan Parsons and say to him: "Hey Alan, play this for me...". Well, at least i think you cant... Didn't he tour with Yes in the 90's or something ?
  9. I ordered the series off Amazon ...it's good.
  10. QUOTE (Tick @ Jul 13 2012, 07:43 AM) No. Sounds like any other album to me. If I am going to knit pick anything vocals wise on the album, it would be the background of Wish Them Well, with Geddy singing, "Wish... them... well..." I like the song but that part, not so much. I think that would have been a good fade out part or something , it's just too much all through the song like that.
  11. QUOTE (Silas Lang @ Jul 13 2012, 12:11 AM) In response to those claim it's self-pitying and whiny - I think you're missing the point. It's certainly no more than something like Lennon's Plastic Ono Band. The reason Waters wrote it in the first place was his frustration with the lack of communication with the audience at massive stadium shows and his feeling that the importance of the music was instead being reduced and overwhelmed by the machinery of the music business to sheer numbers and greed - which is pretty admirable, I think. The extent to which it's supposed to be all about Waters is overstated a bit. He included a lot of his own observations of others in it as well about how easy it was with all the adulation and hero worship so prevalent in the 70s that one could easily lose touch with reality and severely hamper relationships with the people closest to you. One shouldn't be disqualified from digging into themselves because they're rich and famous. That's all the story is doing. It's describing someone who can't connect with the people around him and trying to figure out why in a highly imaginative and compelling way. Musically it's not my favorite Floyd by a long shot but I do find it to pretty flawless and amazing. I find it hard to believe anybody could prefer The Final Cut to this. Yeah ...I believe some of the drug stuff is inspired by Syd, Roger said that it would have been to personal to have everything be about him.
  12. QUOTE (ILSnwdog @ Jun 22 2012, 02:32 PM) QUOTE (Gompers @ Jun 22 2012, 01:14 PM) There is no such thing as best drummer, same as best painter, best actor, etc...it is all subjective. He's my favorite. I don't believe in the concept of a best drummer ever...it's too damn subjective.
  13. Roger Waters Iron Maiden Alice Cooper Motley Crue Kiss After seing all these bands this summer I predict Rush's stage show will come in last. But they will surpass them all talentwise.
  14. QUOTE (t2s @ Jul 9 2012, 09:48 AM) Van Halen Sabbath Iron Maiden King's X Dream Theater Marillion Riverside Pink Floyd Big fan of all those bands except Marillion and they're OK.
