  1. Don Henley had some really lousy things to say about Rush in '02 when they were getting ready to tour again.
  2. I don't have a fear of heights, but I have a recurring dream where I'm driving up a very high, narrow, and nearly vertical bridge, and I feel like the car is going to flip backwards. There's a real bridge that feels like that on the way to LaGuardia airport, as well as heading over the Canadian border north of Watertown,New York. Filbert St in San Francisco is famous for its grade, but it's one-way downhill. Driving up that would freak me out. As it was, I bottomed out my car doing it multiple times.
  3. Buying bootlegs is the ultimate sign of disrespect to an artist. You are pissing on their livelihood and exploiting them for your personal pleasure. Besides, what kind of fool pays for something like that when with a little work you'll probably find it for free on the interwebs? Think, young grasshopper.
  4. I sang I Can't Tell You Why in my band in Utah. Fun bassline too. Their bio is an interesting read. They basically all always hated each other.
  5. They're not finished until they don't tour. Since that hasn't happened yet, stay tuned.
  6. He was. My buddy is an executive with Harrahs and used to book acts at the Horseshoe Casino in Indiana. I guess the casino is a riverboat and Berry wouldn't set foot on it till he got paid.
  7. I only have one I bought off the street for R40. 10 bucks, as opposed to $50 inside. I also got a shirt from Alex in 2010 and one from Neil's cannon in 2012, but I gave those both away as gifts.
  8. If you like Priest you'll LOVE this other new band. They're called Iron Maiden. Check them out!
  9. Bobby Flay's Burger Palace. In terms of franchises, the best I've had was a place in Utah called Crown Burger. Some of them are also called Atlantis Burger or Apollo Burger. 5 Guys is good, but not 12 bucks good. The worst is Carl's Jr/Hardees. There used to be a grinder shop in my hometown that made an unbelievable cheeseburger grinder. It's hard for any chain to compete with a good mom-and-pop restaurant, or even one off your own grill.
  10. The mother/nanny was the best. Flying into the room and then closing the door on her knees!
  11. Billy Sherwood. He's been playing bass for them for a couple of years now, and was in the band a while back. It's not like they don't have a bass player. While it would have been cool to see Geddy play with Yes, Billy is more than capable of playing all of Chris's parts. Bite your tongue! Ged is better. Where in my response did I even hint that Billy is better than Geddy? I was merely pointing that Yes does have a bassist, in response to the question of who will play bass for them at the ceremony. Infers Sherwood is better at playing the parts. Ged could readily and effectively play the parts. No, it doesnt.
  12. VaporTrailsSnakes&ArrowsClockworkAngels is their worst album. T4E is their worst album actually. With Caress, they had the excuse of being young and going for it.
  13. I remember an interview from 1980 or so where they said they went and saw Yes together while recording Caress of Steel, and they were so demoralized that they almost didn't finish the album afterward. I'm calling my shot now. Somehow that'll make its way into their speech, as some sort of funny excuse as to why it's their worst album.
  14. I never really got into Yes, for whatever reason. But assuming their diehard fans are anything like Rush fans, they're going to be critiquing every note he plays.
  15. He'll be nervous as hell.
  16. This is a trick question isn't it?
  17. If you first had that record on cassette, then it's not a side 2 throwaway. It's a side one hit.
  18. I've only seen the Thunderstruck video. It's cute, but there more than 2 cellos playing. It's a gimmick act.
  19. Is that before or after taxes? That comes out to about 3.3 mill after taxes, and while it beats a kick in the nuts, it's not really enough to quit your job over and live the good life. You pay off the house, maybe buy a new, sensible car or two, and if you're smart, put the rest away and live off the interest. Comfortably, not lavishly. So I wouldn't really tell anyone I didn't know well.
  20. I must say the quality of the flame wars has vastly improved from when I first found this site 10 years ago. Back then you could get banned for almost nothing. It was Rudy-esque. Nice to see the place has loosened up a bit.
  21. Their bassist and his wife lived in my apartment complex in Salt Lake City up till he got this gig. I met him at a BBQ the complex had. He mentioned he had just gotten back from touring with his band aND was offered the gig with Panic at the Disco. I said "Cool, is that a local band?" That was in 2010. I've never heard anything he's done with them.
