  4. Although it's been said that the wall is to keep his nosy neighbour from prying into tedzzz 6-headed business. That neighbour? None other than Kenny "Poo Corner" Loggins, whose very presence is irritating to most life forms. Stay strong tedzzz! Loggins cannot prevail! His feet are too loose, and his ego too big! http://www.amiright.com/photoshops/images/album_1404022163.png
  5. In an effort to stop SegueMyles and my hijacking of the On/Off thread - presenting the Sheesh thread. Ever have a day where you needed to express yourself, but weren't quite sure how, other than by swearing or drinking? Here at the Sheesh Lounge, we invite you to enjoy the subtle art of Sheesh. Let's begin: http://troll.me/images/facepalm-picard/sheesh-thumb.jpg

  7. He'd be in his 70s by now. Glasses, long stringy hair, bushy beard, rope belt with a knife tied to it; but this was 25 years ago. I don't think he was from the area, might've been from the States??? I will never forget that bus ride, that's for sure! I'll have to check these shows out I guess!
  8. West bishes for the man who brought us Jawk Jaw and tedzzz! lots of lumpy love from Adrienne and Beatrice http://www.joblo.com/images_arrownews/adrienne%20barbeau%205.jpg http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-BaMeZvN3Lsk/UZWqK1xkweI/AAAAAAAAAYs/_Et97JV-YA8/s1600/Bea+Arthur.jpeg

  10. Read a lot of his stuff when I was a teen. "Favorite Game" was a good straightforward novel. "Beautiful Losers" was much more experimental. He even wrote poems about blowjobs ("When you kneel before me I rise like Colossus..." or something like that) which was a very unCanadian thing to do back in the day. "I've seen the future baby, and it's murder." This one sticks with me for some reason, probably because it''s so dark. Thanks for the light, Leonard. It's still creeping in through the cracks.
  11. That was nice of Sting to put Gordon Ramsey on his new album cover.
  12. And I think we can look forward to a Lee/lifeson project in the future. An album with several guest drummers would be perfect since it wouldn't be looked at as a new version of rush and they can find a lyricist. I'm curious to see what Neil can do with an actual novel too. Lots of possibilities that don't include a tour or new album. Yes that's true. But even if they never put out any other music I'm happy for what I got. Anything else is a bonus. Too right. I've been thinking everything was a bonus since Different Stages. I swore My Favorite Headache was the nail in the coffin. And I like the idea of various drummers on a Lee/Lifeson project...though I'd like to see ONE drummer for 70% of those songs to see what kind of chemistry they could get going across the bulk of an album. The remaining 30%, I'd like to see various drummers. I would like to hear music from them but honestly I think Geddys voice is shot, so hopefully instrumental or someone else singing. BULL SHIT. My dear wife got me the R40 dvd for my birthday. There were moments where we both tried not to cringe. It was not pretty in spots (Lakeside Park leaps to mind), despite the musicianship. It sounds like Geddy blew his voice out, buddy, and it ain't never coming back [double negative intended]. Just like "Shane" or "Old Yeller" So much of that weird yodeling, as Eel Yddeg describes it. Sad to say, I haven't watched it since. I will though, just not in any hurry. There are fine vocal moments on R40, but you have to admit, there's also perhaps a tiny little bit of strain. Which is no problem, he's human, right? But don't call "bullshit" on something like this. There's too much evidence against you. Don't waste your "bullshit" card here. Save it for another day! :) It's cool that you're so passionate about this though. Music is the best, and you obviously enjoy music! The R40 tour was the best Geddy sounded in a helluva long time. You clearly don't know your asshole from a hole in the ground. And yes, I'm salty af Sorry "salty af", I saw one of the first shows of the Time Machine tour and Geddy sounded quite a bit better then than he did on TM tour dvd or R40 dvd. Just my musical opinion. I heard much less yodelly-voice-breaking stuff. I found it distracting in spots on the R40 dvd. He's still an awesome musician who is freakishly talented. It's just that his voice is showing definite signs of aging. He even says so in that latest interview with George S. btw, the only similarity between my butt and a hole in the ground is that both are crawling with ants. sweet bg

  14. Owen Hardy = Neil Peart = Alex Droog Clockwork Orange Lives by N. Stiffbard and KJ Helper "Wow, it's such a big world out there. There is so much potential for the good old ultraviolence." "Yeah Alex Droog, I know EXACTLY what you mean. You get so worked up, it's like you were actually at Bastille Day." "Hey look. It is an old man. Let's kick him!" "Yeah, he's like a snake crawling out of the darkness!" "Gee, my old buddy Dim turned against me. Maybe I should just end it all. Should I let my lifeblood spill over?" Alex Droog stands up and walks over to the thing. He puts on a 'music circle' and listens to it. He sighs. "I like this old song. It reminds me when I lived in the limelight and had malenky bit of clutter; you know, the big money." "Oh please, don't play that song and show me platitudinous scenes of violentism! I don't choose free will! I see the Middle Kingdom! I'll stand there like a mystic!" [scenes of train wrecks, spilled milk, and fat people play upon a screen while "Cottontail" plays in the background] "Nooooooooo! Not the Count! Not sweet Basie! Hear what it can do!" "I'm free! Truly free!" he cried into the big wide arc of the great sweeping breaststroke of the sky. "By-Tor and the Snow Dog!" The End
  15. Once you're here, to better blend in with us, it would be best to memorize this:
  16. Fudging piece of sugar system still down at work. :fuckinputer: Fudged the dog for a few hours, then used some vacation time, came home and :smoke: Fudge that killing time crap. Now I'm happy! Great day! Beautiful sunset! Double rainbow! Peace and love everyone! :yay: :yay: :yay:
  17. If you're interested. Maybe it will add to the mystique? Caretaker's story [context: to be read in a flat droning monotone - remember that he had just picked us up in his rickety old schoolbus. we realized, once sitting in the bus, that he had a good-sized knife in a sheath tied to his rope belt.] I first came to the island in 1971, and stayed for half the year. That was a good year. 1972 was also a good year. I was hired on full time and [insert 2 minute blah blah blah here]. 1973 was another a really good year. We had such a long and beautiful autumn [2 min blah blah blah] Now 1974...1974 wasn't such a good year. I became convinced that I was possessed by an Indian spirit. I was out here all alone and thought I was this guy. I was here for a while before anyone found me. I had to go up to Dartmouth [Mental Institution]. They put a bunch of electricity into me and I don't remember much of that, which is a good thing I guess. They said I was running around like a wild man. Anyways, that kept me out of business for a while. I got better with horse therapy, and came back to the island in 1977. Now in 1978 blah blah blah. Okay, here you go boys. It's been good talking to you. Take care.
  18. Right on! That Tedzzz is a total waste of skin. Good thing tedzzz is a real cool dude who's always in a groovy mood! http://www.teamjimmyjoe.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/old-man-clashing-polyester-1970s-funny-family-photos-212x300.jpg
  19. I grew up near there and have been to the island many times. Is it open to the public again? It was closed in the early 90's. Treasure or not, it's a beautiful spot. The last time I was there, I was showing a friend around, and the caretaker (at the time) rolled up in an old schoolbus, with a piece of rope for a belt (not casting judgement, just setting the scene) and told us we had to leave, and he'd drive us back to the car. He then kept us in his bus for around twenty minutes and told us crazy stories. CRAZY stories. He's probably interviewed on one of those shows. Will keep an eye out for this! Glad you're enjoying it, as it's such a strange and, as you say, fascinating story.
  20. That's probably why Robert Plant has such an aversion to it. "No way, I am NOT singing 'bustle in your hedgerow'!"
  21. Our town library had a small bunch of records, and this was one of them (they also had 'Close to the Edge' and 'Who Are You' - my first time hearing those too). I was 13 or 14 when I first heard it. Monumental. I enjoyed the 'sound' of the recording at the time, it head a real sense of space and mood (similar to Moving Pictures). There is something about the production of that record that is kinda grey/grainy/dreary and altogether appealing. My dad liked "Rock and Roll", and Sandy Denny. Cutie-patootie! Sad story, terrific singer. 'Northstar Grassman and the Ravens' is an excellent listen.
  22. Swans and geese can be pricks, so why not ducks?
