Neil is never going to play drums professionally again. I highly doubt he plays them at home. Ged and Alex can cash in on their celebrity by writing with or guesting on other musicians songs. Not a bad life . It is certainly not as profitable . If Ged and Al needed a gig where they generate the kind of income they had in Rush they would need to form a band . A BAND WITHOUT NEIL .It is a fact there is no Rush without Neil so there is no Rush. Ged and Al might try to resurrect Rush without Neil but the shitstorm coming from that would probably sink the project before it gets started.If there was a way Rush could keep going Ged and Al would of done it by now . I understand some fans and especially Geddy and Alex want to continue but it is over . Even they are smart enough to understand that hiring a pro drummer and touring will just diminish the legacy. Best to just leave alone.

I remember liking his sound on A Camera Eye very much . I really don't spend much time thinking of sound as opposed to the notes being played . This is particularly humorous since I am a amateur guitarist myself. I know that guitarist in general spend most of their time trying combinations of amps and pickups , effects , ect .But I never got into that too much. I'm not knocking it , it just seems like something I didn't have the time for. I remember that famous photo of Van Halen in the studio recording the first album and on Eddie's patch cord I seen a equalizer , it looked like a floor model , just a few sliders on it . I wondered why he had it on his effects chain. I can't imagine it did much good . I may be wrong . Also he admitted years later that he lied about the modifications he made to his amps and after hearing stories of people blowing up their amps with a Varistors . he felt guilty because he really didn't do much to modify his sound. I can't remember the specifics because like I stated earlier I don't spend much time mulling this over. Supposedly this mod would make the amps tubed run real hot . maybe I will look it up again and reread it .

Anything short of complete financial hardship won't get Neil behind the set of drums again ever. Its over ! that is just my opinion , they may surprise me so there is always hope .

As a lover of the early synth era of Rush , that photo of Alex running over Geddy's keyboard is pretty funny !!!!!!!!

Well I was in the crowd when Rush triumphantly returned to the West Palm Beach area after the release of Vapor Trails. Me and my friend were standing in the grass when I felt someone push me from the back . I turned around and it was this overweight guy dancing like he was on acid .He had hit my back and as I looked back he didn't seem to care. I watched him do this for several minutes checking over my shoulder as Rush played ( can't remember what song it was ) It clear he wasn't Rush fan he was just there to cause a ruckus. Me and my friend moved away from the area and I continued to watch the asshole dance . He kept getting closer and closer to a man sitting in a lawn chair and this guy was HUGE. I mean forearms like Schwarzenegger huge. I got the impression he was a fireman or something. I kept watching him dancing around arms and legs flailing almost hitting people . Everyone was watching him and not the show . Then it happened ! A most glorious thing . He hit the big guy while he was sitting there with his wife . That guy didn't even hesitate he got up and laid that asshole out with one punch. His friends ran over and picked him up and that was the last we seen of our rotund Baryshnikov . So maybe yes he was trying to get a mosh pit ... or maybe is was just being who he is ..... A JERK!!!!!!!!!!!!
