  1. She's good! I haven't seen that one. Love her in Double Indemnity.
  2. RIP, Piper Laurie! I remember her best in The Hustler; she was just great in that role. (Never was a big Carrie fan, although seeing John Travolta getting taken out is always amusing!)
  3. Happy dance today! We finally had the closing on my mom's house sale today. It's a big change after 56 years, but it has been a concern for the last 6 years, taking care of it from 4 hours away. (My parents and then my mom lived there until a year ago but their age prevented them from doing stuff and they were always telling us- "The neighbors will do it!"" We tried not to leave it to that.) Lots of memories there- tanning on the roof, boyfriends on the roof (my sister's), boyfriends under the bed (my other sister's), groundhog under the front porch. No more empty house, a new young family has bought it. Happy life to them!
  4. Congrats! Conor Bedard looked good! Pens didn't quite have it.
  5. My mom lived in one of the college buildings in that movie. She never gets tired of seeing it!
  6. Happy Birthday, invisible airwave !! Best wishes to someone that keeps us posted on the latest movies (and is a fellow John Fugelsang fan!) Have a great day and cheers !
  7. Brian Jacques' Redwall series (Redwall is the first book.) Kind of like Lord of the RIngs with mice and forest animals.
  8. Thank you. My elderly mom moved to a senior residence near by and I keep getting it there, even with masking. Thankfully the residents all seem to be able to shake it off. (And apparently on to me. )
  9. Did everyone get the pre sale pass code? It is. MYEFFINLIFE Ticket presales start at 10 AM local, tomorrow morning! I am not able to go due to a few things going on in November, but I hope to hear reports from those that did! Also, I have had covid 3 times in 15 months, I'm not really into a crowd scene right now. Really wonderful when the thing kicking my ass is me . . . .
  10. A friend of mine in another group mentioned that there was a pre-sale one day early by using their American Express card, no pre-sale code but just card number did it.
  11. I'm so sorry that it sounds like you are losing your dad- deepest condolences. Take care, I will be thinking of you.
  12. Hugs and condolences to you, Sun. This is such a lovely tribute to your relative! I'm glad you got to have a last visit with her. Those can mean so much. It sounds like you have a great family to share memories with.
  13. That's really awesome! In my neighborhood we made our own triangle badges.
  14. This one made me feel old! When we were in grade school, everyone (boys too!) thought he was so cool as Illya Kuryakin. (My older neighbor Mark had his poster up for years.) I loved him on NCIS as the still cool coroner. . RIP, David.
  15. It used to! There is an ongoing one! Nothing that exciting. My dad and Grandpa used to save silver half dollars over the years. (Before 1965, they were made of real silver in the US and were pretty cool.) There used to be 3 pickle jars of them in the basement in a beer box (high security ). We enjoyed playing with them as children. It was nothing huge, probably like $60.00 worth of them, but they were cool. Of course we didn't think of them for years and when we went to clean out the basement they were gone. My mom never remembered having them down there at all, my one sister thought there were boxes and boxes of them and my other crazy sister thought they were pieces of gold and that I have it wrong. (I have it wrong? I've never even seen a piece of gold! ). I have a feeling my dad sold them when he had three kids in college at the same time, he mentioned something but we will always wonder, I guess!
  16. Almost as long as I have been alive, too! One day I thought it was going to kill me! My parents never went to the basement except to do laundry. It's just a cement block basement. It sprung a leak in the back wall with hard rains this summer and it turned out to have a high radon level; anyway that was two big fixes right there, sigh. No I'm not watching AHS, I think I saw the first 3 seasons. I haven't been watching too much, I need to get caught up on Barbie! Haven't seen it yet!
  17. Oh, man, the Broncos! 70-20 is an ugly loss. And my husband was way too excited over Taylor Swift being at the Chiefs game!
  18. Awww, thanks for asking, Ducky! Yes, I've been having to do a bunch of work to get people to fix my mom's house. My parents bought it 55 years ago and haven't fixed anything for 35 years! . That is all finally done and we have someone who wants to buy it, we should be all finished up by early October. It's been hard and then I had Covid (again ) for the last 2 weeks but I'm finally feeling better! Bring on those punkins! Are you watching the new AHS? Any good ?
  19. Penn State now 4-0 after shutting out Iowa! Was hoping Ohio State would lose as well, but that didn't happen.
  20. I remember having it on the car radio one time and our young daughter asking me, "So, does he ever get home? He's taking long enough!"
  21. Monk is great! Especially the later seasons where the other characters are brought out a bit more. My husband will still ask me "Am I acting like Lt Disher?" (his way of asking AITA)
  22. Never a good look to get off the team bus and stomp all over the home team's midfield logo! As if Oregon wasn't fired up already!
  23. Geddy's BBB book I could hold out on, until I went to the book signing, but biographies are my absolute favorites. I am hoping I will end up with two, it would be worth it to go to the lecture event. I want to read it right away in November! I hope there is an Effin Life event near us. Going to Philadelphia for his book signing in the summer wasn't bad, but the place it was held is closed now and getting to Philly is harder during the winter months.
