  1. There were many other nights when Geddy was in better voice- I love the Dallas R40 recording that someone put up in Different Stages- but I'll take what I can get! :) The filming is nice; you can really get an appreciation for Howard's lights..
  2. That sounds like rather an unpleasant co-worker, unless they were so upset by it as well that they were seeking consolation from you. I'm usually easy going but in your situation I think I would have said I don't watch gross videos. I'm glad you and your daughter are safe!
  3. Here is a bump for this thread- a nice poster the t-shirt maker Danforth and Pape had on their Facebook page today in honor of the new James Bond Spectre movie coming out today- - - http://i425.photobucket.com/albums/pp338/plantfan40/906104_773767159417525_1635669949472014756_o.jpg
  4. Sounds like a great fall trip! My mom is from the midwest and talks about how beautiful Door County is.

    The Garden

I'm with those that say they love part of S & A and part of CA. As others have mentioned, Caravan, Clockwork Angels, The Anarchist, Headlong Flight and The Garden are awesome. If you get a chance, listen to The Anarchist and Headlong flight from the R40 tour on youTube or from a bootleg. They sounded great on the tour and it brought me a new appreciation for them!
  6. Nice to have you back! Sounds like me when lightning took out the modem and router for a few days in June!
  7. :ebert: :ebert: Congratulations, LIX !! I always enjoy seeing your home improvement projects!
  8. You guys- my husband and I saw a good movie tonight! If you like this thread it would probably be interesting to you. It was a documentary called "The Wrecking Crew." Our library had it on a DVD. It was about a group of studio musicians in Los Angeles in the 60's that played on a huge number of hit records while artists sang or let these people play on the records because they sounded better! It had a lot of good songs in it- "These Boots are Made for Walkin'", Beach Boys songs, Sonny and Cher songs, etc. It was fun to watch! :P
  9. RIP Maureen . For years, my Dad always found some tv station showing "The Quiet Man" on St. Patrick's Day and we would watch it together. I always enjoyed that much more than "How Green Was My Valley." I think my sister and I saw that once on Dialing for Dollars and found it too sad!
  10. Aaack, the worst. Hope you feel better soon!
  11. How cool that you can share that with your son! My daughter likes to listen to Rush in the car with me also, but she is 23! :D
  12. This is one of my favorite songs, even after all these years, so I'm glad they released it early! I like how happy Alex looks as they get into it, around the one minute mark. As puffyshirt said, I think he really does enjoy playing CTTH- there was an interview he did with a radio station this spring where he talked about teaching his grandson's kindergarten class how to play it on all sorts of different little kid instruments for a school concert- that image always makes me smile! Can't say too much about Ged's voice; it was better some nights than others on this tour and I think this song and Lakeside Park were the ones where I always noticed it the most. Sir Lerxst- thanks for pointing out the phantom hand- very interesting! :D
  13. I hope everything works out for you- that sounds like a tough situation. . .
  14. :7up: :7up: Happy Birthday Toymaker! I hope it's a great one! (Good luck with your student appts.!)
  15. And from Snopes.com-(this one is for BowlCity!) Incidentally, the future of date of 21 October 2015 to which Marty travels does have some significance, having to do with a number of baseball predictions attributed to the film: The reason [Marty] sets the DeLorean to Oct. 21, 2015? It’s the day 30 years in the future when the Cubs are predicted to win the World Series. Bob Gale, who scripted the 1985 original with Robert Zemeckis, said that he tried to figure out when the final game of the Series would have played: “I did my homework as a baseball fan.” Hope it brings the Cubs some luck tomorrow!
  16. The bad part about 10/21/15 . . . . . . . . http://i425.photobucket.com/albums/pp338/plantfan40/NEjlL2z.png

    Cats!

Hugs to you guys. RIP beautiful Scooter :rose:
  18. Looks to me like Ged's even put down the scorebook for a bit! Probably too depressing to keep recording this debacle!
  19. Is Geddy in the two rows behind home plate? Yes, next to the guy in the pink shirt. Let's get to the important stuff! What kind of beverage was he drinking? Did he get a hotdog with everything on it or just with mustard? AND how many minutes was it between the first time he stood to the second time? I need to know! ;) We had to be watching SOMETHING, Cueto's falling apart was unwatchable and I was watching rooting for the Jays! Stop torturing me and just answer my questions!!! Oh, if he did have a hot dog with mustard, what kind of mustard? I'm dying here! Bwa ha ha, he always appears to be too busy scoring to eat OR drink, but they never show him during the seventh inning stretch. Our imaginations could run wild!! (Not that I'm watching him all the time but when it's a full count and the batter fouls the ball off for like the 3rd time, you tend to look and see what the Ged is doing. . . ;))

  21. Is Geddy in the two rows behind home plate? Yes, next to the guy in the pink shirt. Yes, that was one ugly shirt but it made Geddy easy to spot!
  22. Which is why it drives me crazy. Dah-dah-dah, dah-dah-dah, dah-dah-dah.....to my ears it just drags along and it's just too long for me to have any patience with it. Yeah, it is one of Led Zep's that I don't care for. That dah-dah-dah always made it sound really pretentious or something to me. I stick with Xanadu.
  23. it's the final untitled choice I guess IV is the "official name"? We always called it Zoso in high school because supposedly that was what the runes said. I always liked II and III the best; II for Plant's all out attack on She's Just a Woman and Ramble On and III for Immigrant Song and the acoustic experiments on the second side. I hear the Immigrant Song opening lick in soooooo many other people's songs. (I know, serves Led Zep right after some of the recent accusations . . .)
  24. :cheerleader: :cheerleader: Congratulations, Lorraine!! Here's to an awesome TRF er!
