  1. I desperately want them to bring back Vapor Trails or Test for Echo. Not many people like those albums in general, but there is no doubt that there are a few masterpieces from those records. It'll be a great thing to listen to and behold.
  2. I couldn't listen to the original 30-second clips because Amazon hates me, so this is the first time I listened these clips. I already love Vapor trails as it is, but I am just ecstatic for this new remix. The sound is just much more clean and more melodic. So far, I'm really excited for Nocturne. I didn't listen to that song originally, but now it just sounds heavenly. What my least favorite thing about these clips is the dual voice-over on Peaceable Kingdom. I liked it much better when it was only Geddy singing the high-end to the lyrics. Anyway, I'm buying this as soon as it comes out on September 30th right after I get out on school. http://img.rush.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/Rush_VaporTrails_Remix_Cover.jpg
  3. I actually like the rap part to Roll the Bones. It's so shocking, yes, I know.
  4. Roll the Bones isn't really one of my favorite albums, but it still kicks ass. Dreamline is one of Rush's best ever, and Where's My Thing is just so catchy: it never gets old. Also, I actually like the rap part of Roll the Bones. Not many people like it, but I think its creative and lyrical.
  5. I guess he's becoming a jolly good fellow like Santa. :Neil: Wait, how the f**k can I talk when my nose is bigger than Geddy's? It really is!
  6. Damn, I love Counterparts. Out of my list of favorite Rush albums, it is placed at #4, which is pretty damn good. Also, considering it's a 90s album, it shows that Rush wasn't weak during this period, as people misconceive. Anyway, Happy related Birthday CP!!! :dweez:
  7. I think what you guys meant to say was that Vapor Trails was "THE shit". When I first listened to the album, I didn't hear any crappy sound to it, all I heard was beauty. It may not be their best sounding album, but the songs overall are great. VT isn't shit, it's quite the opposite, in my opinion at least.

    Rush puns

Way to put 'em all as the names to the instrumentals.
  9. I love both albums, but Counterparts definitly wins my vote. Sorry T4E.
  10. You hate 7 Rush albums. How the hell can you call yourself a Rush fan if you hate 1/3 of all their work. It seems like almost everybody on this thread hates HYF. Think about it, it has to be one of Rush's top 5 albums. I may hate 7 Rush albums but I'd been listening to Rush for 21 years when you were born. I was calling myself a Rush fan in 1976. I don't even consider Rush fans born after 1981 to be true fans. Real fans would have made sure they were born earlier. I call myself a Rush fan because I like their music. In fact, I enjoy ALL of their songs whether it's from T4E, VT, HYF, Presto, RTB, or any other album. Even though I'm younger than you, that still doesn't make me less of a fan. That's like saying you have to be 18 years old or less to enjoy the crappy music that's produced these days. If you want to be a Rush fan, then you must enjoy their music; it doesn't depend on your age. Hating Rush's music, especially a large portion of it, shouldn't make you a Rush fan. I think the words you were trying to find were "don't enjoy." That takes a whole different meaning to your comment.

  12. I never trusted any form of online shopping after I bought a watch off of Ebay back in April of last year. It's just much more efficient going to a store. As for the watch, it's the most badass thing I've probably ever bought. http://www.customdropshipping.com/data/design/system/img/20120827/rush-caravan-28939-798.png
  13. I know this sounds like a question that shouldn't belong on this website, but I feel like I'm missing out on a lot of things about Rush that many other fans know all about. I'm a HUGE Rush fan I must say. I've listen to all except for maybe about 10-15 of their songs, and I try to go on Cygnus X-1, RushisaBand, and of course TRF everyday. I just feel like there are many other things I need to know about that is expected of a Rush fan like me and you. I just want to know where I could find these things. The things I feel like I'm missing out on is: Victor (Alex's solo album) Some songs from My Favorite Headache Interviews Songs that weren't featured in studio albums (like Take Off) ect. All I want to know is where I could find these things. Perhaps online or anywhere else. Thank You
  14. Gotta agree with most of these people on this thread. Test For Echo is a very underrated album. Best songs, in my opinion, include: Test For Echo Driven Half the World Resist Limbo Of course, all the other songs are really good. About Limbo, I have to say it's the most underrated song on this album, if not, probably Rush's most underrated song ever. I didn't really like it at first, but over time, it just turns out to be a huge joy to listen to. I especially love the opening bass line. May be simplistic, but still musical. I would also like to say Happy Birthday to both Test For Echo and Neil Peart. :Neil: :dweez: :Neil: :dweez: :Neil: :dweez: :Neil: :dweez: :Neil: :dweez: :Neil: :dweez: :Neil: :dweez: :Neil:
  15. Happy frickin' Birthday Neil!!! Us here at TRF realize the accomplishments you've made throughout your life and congratulate you for that. Unfortunately, I'm nowhere close to being as successful as you are, but I wish I was. Happy 61 man!!!
  16. This album is my favorite from this era, so it's not easy for me to choose. It was a tough decision between Animate and Cut to the Chase, but I had to go with Cut to the Chase because of the guitar solo (I mean, who in the hell wouldn't love it) and the adrenaline rushing rhythm. Also, the lyrical meaning, about self determination and how to keep pushing yourself forward, gets me going throughout the day. It's almost like Marathon in a way. I love every song from this album, but I have to go with Cut to the Chase for my favorite.
  17. The closest thing I got to was finding the YouTube profile of some gay kid at my school. It turns out, he's just another asshole who wants to straight up abolish religion.
  18. 1) When you actually have a plaque of Rush in your room even though it says "Won zero Grammies" on it. 2) When you go to France during Bastille Day 3) When you try to find the constellation of Cygnus every night during the summer when it's out.
  19. Hold Your Fire was released 26 years ago on this date. Many people may not like the album, but certainly it's still Rush. Let us all plug in our headphones, blare you speakers, jam out to "Time Stand Still", and raise our lighters high for this special day. http://userserve-ak.last.fm/serve/500/75381098/Hold+Your+Fire.png
  20. Did I have the dream, or did the dream have me? Yeah, It's one of those types of questions.
  21. Secret Touch I remember... how we talked and drank into the misty dawn.
  22. I just started my Sophomore Year on the 13th of August, and it's so far so good. I go to an IB school, which is almost like a school with nothing but AP courses. One thing that's good is that I have a PE class which I haven't taken before, and I think that there is a Freshman who is just as big of a Rush Rat as I am; however, I can't quite find him or her though. One thing that is bad is that I'm only third chair trumpet in my band class. I used to be first throughout 8th and 9th grade, but that's all changed now. At least I'll be the only bass player in Jazz band considering the other bassist graduated.
