  1. Hey guys! I figured that this would be a great place to share our stories on our first "Rush Moments", how we discovered the band's music, who introduced us to it, what our first album was, ect. ect. I'll start with mine (and you might not believe it, but it's very true). It was a jesuit priest believe it or not........ See, I was raised Roman Catholic, and I went to a catholic school in Ottawa that was right near a church. I kinda lost interest in the whole catholic thing before long, but would still pay lip-service because I figured it was the polite thing to do until after graduation. Anyway, there was a younger priest (a jesuit in his early 30's) who had an office at the back of the church and was a pretty decent guy who made it clear that his door was open anytime any of us needed to talk. I went to him for some advice one day when I was 15 and walked in on him rockin' out to Red Sector A! I couldn't believe it! he seemed a little embarrassed and I asked him what he was listening to, he said "Rush, best band ever!" and gave me a look that was like "Don't tell me that you've never heard of Rush??...." After a brief sermon in Rushology 101, he lent me a copy of CHRONICLES that he apparently would play on loop when no one was around. After a few listens, I was hooked. He lent me copies of Test For Echo and Moving Pictures after that and I became a bonafide Rush-head. And so that's the story. Weird, paradoxical, but strangely true. I'm not sure what he would think of Snakes And Arrows and Clockwork Angels though................. What are your stories??
  2. I don't put those albums in the top 5, but they are excellent albums. Otherwise, I agree with you completely on this. I never said that hey were top 5 albums. I think that they are excellent records that do not get nearly the amount of credit they deserve.
  3. I pretty much discarded Snakes and Arrows at first listen. However, after hearing the boys pull out "Far Cry" on the latest tour I gave the album another shot and I have to say that It has grown on me.
  4. I do not get the hate for their 90's materiel at all. Sure, I'm not exactly a big Counterparts fan, but I thought Test For Echo and Roll The Bones were among their best albums. Judge me if you like, that's just what I think.
  5. ^^^ Believe what you want but it's the truth.
  6. Far Cry from Snakes and Arrows is a great song, perhaps their best song of the 2000's
  7. I LOVE Test For Echo. Its one of my top 5 favorite rush albums.
  8. Just curious as to what ppl think. I think Roll The Bones, FBN, and Vapour Trails never get the credit they deserve.
  9. ENOUGH! I was just making a smart-ass comment, If I knew that it would drag this whole thing up again I would have shut up.
  10. Woah, just saw this, all I can say is that I'm disappointed in Geddy, mainly because that is one UGLY chick!
