  1. I grew up loving Led Zeppelin. Today, I change the station. Its weird I know.
  2. The Yes Album Fragile Close to the Edge Going for the One 90125 The Ladder However a lack of patience may hinder your enjoyment of their longer tracks. But I think those albums will get you started. Thanks Wil. Seems we think much the same as I had picked similar. I was a big fan in the 70's and saw them at the Miami Baseball stadium in 1974 I think. I also had a Yes fetish in the 90's with my daughters getting me the 90125 CD for one of my many birthdays. Lots of songs resonate with me as they bring me back to a place in time. I truly grew up in the very best of times for music. The two televised concerts I watched last weekend have renewed an interest in the band yet once again. Thanks again Wil. Let us know how it goes rediscovering them. And then maybe after you listen to those you can throw on Relayer. (A personal fave of mine!) Happy listening! :) I'm all over it Wil! I have been binging all day. I am filling my phone too! Thanks again!

  4. I have rarely listened to much Yes over the last few years/decades. And for sure do not know as much about the band as many of you people do. I did see the 35th anniversary concert (partial) on TV the other day and it peaked my interest. Then here comes another DirectV concert with Jon Davison on vocals. I had my wife try to guess who was who and she was not able to do it. I'm certain I would lose the bet myself. I have a renewed interest in Yes and plan to listen to as much as I can. Stand. Problem is there is just to much material. I have 39 albums and 398 songs on Itunes. Where would be a good place to start. I am not patient.
  5. Politically I guess its Kid Rock. Does he do actual rock?
  6. I like the Foo Fighters. But they are not very good at Rush songs. In fact I only started liking the Foo Fighters cause they like Rush. They did kill it at the awards. But every other time I have seen them do Rush I was not impressed.
  7. I have it scheduled on my DVR. Thanks for the reminder.
  8. IMO, the DVD was great. Then Spotify started playing R-40 and the vocals were not very good. But when I saw them live, I thought the vocals were very good. I'm not sure if it was getting caught up in the moment or what. But the DVD was/is fine for me. The CD's, not so much.
  9. No! Thank You. To bad there are not more parents like you! Damn it. Rock & Roll will live on forever if more people were like you! I bet that girl is the apple of her parents eye!
  10. Probably because it isn't - they were triggering the violin parts during the soundchecks where no violinists were present. Compared with the Official release - the soundcheck version of Losing It is missing loads of violin. Thanks, But why trigger something you don't plan to use and frankly you could not use because the musician was not present? Did anyone that went to Greensboro hear this song being sound checked? Heard it personally?
  11. So the violin player, went to every show with them, but did not get to play at all of them? Would seem they would know well in advance what songs were to be played? I am asking. We were too busy at that pub to be there for that eh John? We were! But it was fun! But my question still begs an answer. Were they prepared to play "Losing It" at every venue? The violin player would have had to travel to every show and not know when he would be asked to play? Or traveled and knew he would not play? That's what I'm asking. If they played "Losing It" at our sound check, then that means the violin player was present but not used. Does not seem right.

  13. I'm going through it too. We were driving along listening to Rush (what else) when my wife says "I can't believe we are never going to be able to see them again". I told her there is always hope. Hope they play again somewhere and we make sure we go no matter the distance or cost! For the poster regarding retirement. Palm Bay Florida. Check out some real estate prices and get shocked at how inexpensive the area is. Nice area too! Beach close and nice three bdr with pool under $200,000
  14. Our local Best Buy did not have any Rush DVD's or Blue ray sets at all. My wife bought mine online. I've only watched it once and did not notice any issues with the packaging? Our Best Buy is pretty shitty IMO.
  15. I got the R-40 DVD for Christmas and never looked at the set list. Once everyone was gone on Christmas eve, I put it in the player and cranked up the sound. My wife and I both loved it, but wondered why we were not hearing some songs we hard live in Greensboro. I am a bit disappointed that the DVD did not include all the songs used on the tour. Kinda pissed me off a little. Can I buy the bonus DVD separately? Or must I buy the 3 CD set with two DVD set?
  16. Neil has been smoking for how long? Fifty years? It's not a matter of stopping and miraculously being able to do things without gasping for breath. It takes years for the lungs to repair the damage, assuming that he still has healthy lungs. strangely enough, quitting smoking benefits people quickly and significantly even if they've been smoking for a very long time. I read the lungs never actually reverse the damage, just do not get more damaged if you quit smoking. There was a school of thought that ten years would result in a non-smoker lungs. Its not true. For this very reason my doctor gives me a chest x-ray annually when I'm in for my checkup. 40 years of smoking is never wiped away. It only arrested at the point you quit. I quit using Chantix and it was a miracle. I feel as if I never smoked in my life. Its been 6 years now. First time i quit and did not want nor care about smoking.
  17. Wow! Thanks! Thanks for the instructions. My ISP/connection is very slow and this will make this forum a bit more bearable. Its the all the pictures that are bothersome.
  18. I may be in the minority, but Geddy's voice has grown on me over the years and IMO he sounds better than ever. No Geddy, no Rush.
  19. I would say a great kiss is accompanied by a hand full of "kitty cat"!
  20. I felt the same way until I heard him. He sounds like Anderson. Of course I cannot like Yes anymore with a new singer. BTW. Whats the story on Anderson? Why did he leave the band?
  21. "Seven Cities of Gold" is a very underrated and great song. I was so disappointed in the way it sounded live though. Its one studio recording I prefer over the live performance.
  22. I thought and still think the S&A dvd is their very best dvd!
  23. I actually emailed a local station program director and he told me that Rush did not poll well in our geographic, but loves Rush himself. He is a big Rush fan. He told me he was in Greensboro for the same Rush concert I went to last May. They don't play classic rock. They play the newer stuff.
  24. I emailed the station producer of the "new rock" station and he never replied. f***ing jerk! You gotta hear their morning show. Its more hokey then JohnBoy and Billy. It sucks.
  25. Thats the one I messed up. A red starman. They should both match my red SUV. I got them in the mail yesterday and opened it in my truck while 2112 played on cd. I put it on today it went on pretty easy. I just not sure where to put gup sticker yet. I thought it was going to be red and black but it was red and white. Did you peel off the backing paper all at once? I have the 6" Starman too. I am still sitting on my decals and am still afraid to mess another one up. BTW. No one will do it for me. They are afraid too I guess.
