Mary Wilson , co founder of Supremes passes away aged 76

Ouch, this one bites hard. I think my sister, who lives in a suburb Northeast of Detroit, still has her vinyl of The Supremes Where Did Our Love Go album from the '60s. RIP, Mary. -
Pick of the game: Westwood One/NFL Radio's Kevin Harlan's call of the wanker running into the field. Pure gold!

The Chiefs' offensive line would have had its hands full at full strength. Missing two key players, they had little chance. TB defense is loaded with talent. It was actually sad towards the end, watching Mahomes darting about like a lure in a coursing contest. I wonder how well Tampa Bay would have handled, say Fran Tarkenton. For me, he was the king of ducking and dodging pass rushers.

I kept thinking the officials were making bad calls into I was the replays. Each time Kansas City did commit the foul. It may have been just barely committed, but it was, and KC never adapted to the officiating crew's patterns, which was fatal.

It's the Super Bowl- what will you be eating?
pjbear05 replied to blueschica's topic in Food And Wine Aplenty
While a regular season NFL game runs around three hours, it takes around four hours to complete the Super Bowl. More commercials, longer halftime show, etc. And if you watch the pregame festivities that's even more time. There's a good chance you'll want food during all that. Really, in the U.S. this game is just an excuse to get together with family and friends and eat a lot of spicy food and drink beer. Yeah, but I've never heard of people eating during cricket matches, and some of them take forever to finish. Yeah, but that's a European Song Contest, isn't it? Oh, that's one of the nice ones. Most of them are chock full of invective, against a team, an official, venue security, a player and/or their spouse/significant other, parents, etc. Nobody is safe. -

Thinking of the people working in the food and beverage stores. Jumped into a Publix, and the deli section was a zoo. Not only the cold cuts counter, but the line up for freshly made sub sandwiches, and another line up of people picking up deli, seafood, and chicken platters for the game. Then to the Italian market for other pizza supplies. The "meat counter", a long U shaped area, combining meat, seafood, deli/prepared foods, and subs to order, all served by a single pull a numbered tab dispenser, is slightly organized chaos. Counter man: "33. 34. 35. 36. Anybody got a number?.... 40." Me: "Yo, four zero". Get some in store made Italian Sausage, some premium pepperoni, and on to slightly organized chaos part two, aka the baked goods section. And it's only Friday before the game. Pray for these people, they'll need it!

Bumped for SB LV. I'm making a pizza, scratch crust. Not sure if I'm going traditional or Detroit style. Whole milk and fresh mozzarella, pepperoni, Italian sausage, red peppers, red onions, and mushrooms. What are you eating for the game? -
Ah, silly me, those dolts on FB made it appear the coin was something the Royal Mint just came out with, DOH! 420 pence in a guinea, has it anything to do with weed? (lol) And what's with the use of "quid" for a pound? Thanks m8's!

What are your opinions-good, bad, or otherwise-about the Royal Mint's new 12 sided £1 coin?

I saw an article that it was a malignant melanoma, but I'm not sure where they got their information. Another place said it was small cell lung cancer? RIP, Dustin. :rose: Like some other child stars, it seems like the breaks were against him in later life. I hope he found some consolation in the fact he created such a memorable beloved character. Yeah it seems like a lot of those former child stars are cursed, like Gary Coleman, Corey Haim etc. The child star who did the best of all is probably Kurt Russell. Most people have forgotten he was ever a child star at all. Dustin had a bit of a rough life it seemed after being a child star. I know he did standup for a while as he got older but it didn't seem like it took off for him. He had his demons. I wonder if any substance abuse brought on the fast moving cancer. Mark Paul Gosselaar who played Zack on the show transitioned pretty well out of being a teenage star and into an adult one. He's landed some decent roles on tv shows over the years. Mario Lopez has done ok for himself too. There's another actor who's around the same age who's had similar problems. That guy who used to be in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Brendan something. Nicolas Brendan. But he was already in his 20s when he started on Buffy. I think Sarah Michelle Gellar was the only kid on the show who was around the same age as her character. Still Brendan has had a pretty rough go of it since that show ended. Yeah these child actors or young actors must get too used to the attention and sense of importance of being on a popular TV show. Then when it goes away and they go back to a relatively normal situation, they feel like there's a hole in their life and they try to fill it with booze or drugs or stupid shit. They miss the good times and the high life and unless they get another top show or learn to cope and handle the situation better they hit a downward spiral. Leif Garrett. I also remember a comedy skit "interview" with a character playing Butch Patrick ( Eddie Munster), smoking a cigarette, downing a drink, and lamenting about the "hard times".
