Happy Birthday Lorraine, and welcome to the Benevolent Fellowship of TRF Old Farts.
-
Well, we have a few night owls setting off things, but all in all it was relatively quiet. Rocky came into the spare room I appropriated as a man cave, and we watched a dvr of the Nathan's contest. He only went off once, and that was in the early afternoon between his dosings; the cbd oil gets flying colors for that. One last time, Happy 4th. I'm out.
-
They scare me - the people that use them that is. They're illegal here, but who enforces laws anymore? Every 4th I stress about that because it usually is so hot and dry. We've already had a couple of aerial bombs with enough concussive force to shake the house. Dosed Rocky twice today with a slice of hard salami onto which I dropped some cbd oil, that's working well enough. But once it gets dark the hard core nutbags will really set it off.

Hot and sticky, 93° & 53% humidity. No sign of rain. Good weather for the morons with fireworks. S--t!

Bill Gaines. Don Martin. Al Jaffe. Antonio Prohias. And the list goes on. I remember when the covers said "Cheap 25¢". Loved the song and musical parodies. Their take on "West Side Story" was classic. RIP, MAD.

I had not seen that photo until now, and until I noticed the raised pinky, that hand formation/gesture reminded me of something else altogether. Looks to me like she's tokin' up. :smoke:

Happy 4th, folks. We will just be chilling and grilling today (hot dogs, tater salad, etc.) Already have Rocky dosed up, and will supplement that before the morons with the fireworks really get going tonight. Edit: Well, the asse houles' have started up, including some aerial bombs with a palpable concussion wave. Rocky is chilling, so the slice of salami (dosed with cbd oil) is working.

Different Strings on Stingray Music Canada (Classic Rock Station)

Same thing with Classic Rock unreasonable facsimile here. Btbh the entire FM band is a joke in SOFLA. -
Glastonbury Fayre a docuconcert (yeah, I just made that up) by Nicolas Roeg of the 1971 Glastonbury festival. Karen actually had this in her hold list from the library, but when I saw the lineup I watched it. Terry Reid, Family, Melanie, Arthur Brown, Traffic, Fairport Convention. Most of the music is geared towards the English crowd, so you may not recognize it. As this is a festival it shows a fair amount of nudity. As an extra feature it has a trailer of Melanie from Jarvis Cocker's 2007 Meltdown Festival. Damn, that woman still has a set of pipes, tremendous vocal volume!

Any of a number of story songs by Lorena McKennitt, most notably her arrangement of Alfred Noyes' poem "The Highwayman".

Hell I'd give the ex the 40 mil-but only with the provision that I get any previous tax witholding credit. -
Yesterday our AC unit blew up, and it's in the mid 90's here. This morning we call the retailer that sold us this unit for a replacement. They had them, and scheduled us for tomorrow to replace. BUT, while I'm driving around shopping, Karen calls, saying they're able to get us in, will be there in 20 minutes-and I'm 15 from the house. I speed home and start moving stuff out of the way. Installers arrive 5 minutes later, badda bing badda boom, there in and out in twenty minutes. New unit is cranking the chill out, everything's COOL! :dweez:

Do you ever wonder what Fabrice Morvan is up to these days?

Your favorite album by Jimi Hendrix (Experience)?

Eletric Ladyland. So many great tunes. -
Raining most of the morning, and still is. We've been needing it, but it kept me from taking Rocky on his usual Sunday morning trip to the dog park, so he's in a down mood.

Your favorite singing bassist (that isn't Geddy!)

The Gris-Gris Man is no longer with us. I remember WABX in Detroit getting hard into "Gris-Gris", his breakthrough album. The title song and "I Walk On Gilded Splinters" was played a lot on the station. And his performance of "Such A Night" in "The Last Waltz." RIP, my ass. He's probably stomping around New Orleans arm in arm with Queen Marie Laveau at this moment. Stomp on, John!

My father was in Hawaii for training, and SoCal for assignment, with radar maintenance, due to anxiety over the possibility of a Japanese air strike. My mother was a Registered Nurse in the Army, stationed first on Sicily, then in Naples.

Albums you love despite their flaws.

No you don't; AWBH (and L) is an aural masterpiece. But Teakbois will always be a steaming pile! Feel better now? -
I regularly watch Family Feud, but the Mrs. taped last night's Worst/Kartrashians vs the Junker/Kartrashians celeb episode, what vomit!
