QUOTE (Lost In Xanadu @ Aug 9 2012, 09:09 AM) Yes. But their "singing" along to YYZ was quite annoying to me.

I wish I had been a long-time fan...a boyfriend in HS really liked their music and while I didn't DISLIKE Rush, I was really only exposed to Tom Sawyer, Freewill and Limelight and had heard them over and over on the radio for years, so... But, with my husband I started getting the opportunity to really listen to their other stuff. He went to the S&A concert in Pittsburgh in '07. I would have loved to go, but his buddy got him a ticket, so I had to stay behind. I started getting their music on my iPod in 2009 or 2010...have listened to little else ever since. We finally got to go to Baltimore in '11 and am determined to make the best of what is left of their touring career and attend at least one concert of each remaining tour. My kids, ages 10 and 9, are very much into the group and are going to the Pittsburgh concert with us in September. I didn't want them to miss out on the incredible experience. We'll see where the go on the second leg of the tour and possibly attend one of those shows, too. Hoping to get a whole VIP package for their 40th Anniversary tour for the two of us.

Favorite big-name progressive rock band?
Amy Farrah Fowler replied to StellarJetman's topic in Music Of The Spheres
Jethro Tull! Yes runs a close second, Genesis third. Didn't get into any of the other groups much. Definitely not much of a Pink Floyd fan. -

VT is the angriest sounding...which makes sense. -
I realize this song is not about bullying, but as someone who was relentlessly tormented in school and now with children in the age of being very aware of bullying I see this song as a way to empower one's self. I wish I had, as a teenager, the strength to "turn and walk away" with a smug way of wishing them well. This is what I love about Neil's writing, it's so creatively and beautifully written it can mean so much to so many for all different reasons.

Would rather veg out tonight than listen to a bunch of 70-something men discuss local government. That's what I get for getting a new job.

Partial to S&A. The drum solo and MalNar does it for me.

It's a long listen, but if you haven't already, try it on for size. He talks about the Proverbs notation, too. I could listen to his voice all day.

One of over 500 I took with the best camera I was able to get into the arena. I have a key fob of it on my keyring. http://www.apageatatime.net/rush2011-baltimore.jpg

I haven't read through all the replies in this thread, but I predicted that if there's another single off this album, this would be one of them. Hubby thinks it would be the title track. I have so many faves off this album, but I'm always turning this one up when it comes on.

QUOTE (Sheldon Cooper @ Aug 8 2012, 07:50 AM) Happy Birthday Booby Lover!!! "That's It" wouldn't be the legend it is today without your perversion of The Larger Bowl. Oh no! I wanna know and yet I don't! That's one of my favorite songs.
