Lorraine
rivendell puts me to sleep. At least you have a remedy for insomnia! By the way, Jamie, great pictures of you in the other thread! You are a pretty young lady!
Blue J
I tell ya I get no respect. I told my son one day you'll have kids of your own. He said so will you. I went to see my doctor the other day. You know my doctor Dr. Vinnie Boombatch. Told me I had six months to live I said I couldnt pay his bill he gave me another six months. Hey, I'd swear that last bit is Henny Youngman. Blue J
rivendell puts me to sleep. But it's such a lovely, peaceful sleep, isn't it? I love Rivendell.

Narps
Why does Feedback have to be brought up in every thread? Flip sake Zumbi. Went for By-Tor. Not a fan.I gave you a like for the first part. I wish I had "half a like" in my arsenal...
Digital Dad
Why does Feedback have to be brought up in every thread? Flip sake Zumbi. Went for By-Tor. Not a fan. And we had so much hopeFor you, Segue. You are definitely not prog enough.
apetersvt
I like them all so it's a tough vote (going to be similar (and opposite at the same time) to the late 80s-90s run where there are a lot of songs i'm not big on). Voted for Rivendell with Best I Can being 2nd choice.
Blue J
Voted for Rivendell with Best I Can being 2nd choice. I wondered when someone was going to mention Best I Can. I love it, personally. I like the riff almost as much as I like Anthem.

Cool tune in my view...

And we had so much hopeFor you, Segue. You are definitely not prog enough. Erm...I love prog...By-Tor just doesn't appeal to me. Tales From Topographic Oceans on the other hand... Although replaying this album, I have doubts over Rivendell and In The End. In The End sounds better live.

Lucas
I love the subtle volume swells Alex does in RIVENDELL, as this technique would become a great part of his arsenal later on ( Xanadu, Hemispheres, etc ) Rush could bring the wood with the best of 'em, but one thing that I love about them was the subtlety - and that is RIVENDELL I voted MAKING MEMORIES .... but looking at that list of songs that make up FLY BY NIGHT - that is one great album

Segue Myles
Went for In the End (studio version only). Rivendell has a pretty nature, not a favourite but it is quirky enough to appeal. In The End is lovely...but once All The Worlds A Stage gets a spin, all the studio versions sound castrated.

It doesn't get the recognition and love it deserves. In my opinion.
Narps
Poor Rivendell.Yep but truth be told and the more you really look at the songs on this album, its not any easier to oust one of these than it will be later with one of their "great albums". This album is pretty damn good start to finish... :d13: Edited March 30, 2015 by Narpsberg

So many songs to choose from, so little time. ;)
Segue Myles
Poor Rivendell. I agree! As much as I don't love this album, Rivendell seems to easy to dismiss, much like Tai Shan. Take is as a one off experiment, it has some charm! Might give FBN another spin. And I don't think any part of this album is particularly prog either.
