laughedatbytime
Bruno Mars, please come back, all is forgiven...Pop star Katy Perry will be the halftime performer at Super Bowl XLIX, according to multiple reports. The game will be played Feb. 1, in Glendale, Arizona. The Wall Street Journal reported in August that Perry, Rihanna and Coldplay were asked if they were interested in playing the Super Bowl. The newspaper also had reported that the NFL was looking for artists to pay up to perform at the game, which draws massive ratings. Perry, in an appearance on ESPN's "College GameDay" on Saturday, said she's "not the kind of girl to pay to play the Super Bowl." A record 111.5 million viewers watched last season's Super Bowl between the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos, during which Bruno Mars performed at the half. http://espn.go.com/n...half-super-bowl Edited October 10, 2014 by laughedatbytime

The Analog Cub
The last truly great halftime show I saw was Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. The Who are far past their expiration date at this point. And no, Rush will never do it, and for many (good) reasons.
laughedatbytime
Yay. Pitbull will be playing at the halftime show on Thanksgiving at Dallas. Showing the butt fumble for 10 minutes straight would be more entertaining.

Syrinx
For the life of me, I cannot figure why the NFL insists on trying to appeal to my 16 year old daughter and her friends. They won't be watching either game - 53 year old me will. And I will tune out both of those half time shows.

They know they already got the 20-50 year old males watching no matter what. Trying to expand their viewer demographic. I highly doubt many serious NFL fans will say "Katy Perry? I'm not watching the game at all!!" More than likely they will just pray she wears something tight and revealing and watch the halftime show on mute. Plastic, stupidity, and shitty music doesn't do it for me.
