all vinyl, and all being albums I haven't heard before, v excited for these.

But for now I'm actually listening to the new Florence + The Machine Album and...

this is gorgeous. Please, somebody else listen to this and tell me I'm not wrong in thinking this is beautiful and wonderful. I'm only 3 tracks in and this could easily top Firepower for my album of the year...

Big day yesterday

all on vinyl

Florence + The Machine - High As Hope

Paul Desmond - Summertime

Pat Metheny Group - Pat Metheny Group

and the kickers...

Genesis - Foxtrot, an album cover that deserves to be on vinyl.

GENESIS - THE LAMB LIES DOWN ON BROADWAY

They finally had it in!!!! At last! I've bought the Lamb on vinyl, and now I've heard the Lamb, and...let's just say Foxtrot's already got some competition for the top spot on my favorites list after just 1 1/2 listens.

Anyway, carry on. :)

Apparently, Secret Messages by ELO is getting a reissue in the 2LP format that was rejected by the record label at first.

http://www.superdeluxeedition.com/news/elo-secret-messages-2lp-vinyl/

I found out about this a week after I got the original pressing on vinyl. It’s hard to find compare to their other albums and expensive compared to the others on sites like Discogs.

Good choice. Their entire back catalogue is a must-buy. What do you think of this album then?

I had it out from the library long ago, but took till now to finally buy it back. Every song is at the least interesting and fun, and at the most enthralling. The album is very well sequenced and aesthetically unified as well. Of their albums that I've heard, this is the most consistently entertaining.

However the newest Jack White solo album is in the same league. He hasn't lost his creative spark yet.

R.E.M.-Green ❤❤ (Cd)

R.E.M.-2 Side Interview ❤❤ (Rare limited edition picture disc released in England)

Okay so the interview is apparently rare as f**k because it's from 1987 and exclusive to the record company. I am f***ing dead (Found out weeks ago but still) I saw it and had to have it same for the Green cd. THAT RECORD STORE IS NO JOKE R.E.M. HEAVEN FOR ME

With all your REM mania I need to revisit their early works again, the first few albums left a great impression from what I remember.

I've been getting gayer and gayer for Steven Wilson as the months go by. Saw him live in May.

I gave The Raven That Refused To Sing a few hard listens the last week. What an album. The latter half of The Watchmaker has beautiful piano progressions I wish I could replicate on guitar.

I don't think I'm getting off the Wilson train anytime soon.

Iron Maiden - Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son

Judas Priest - Unleashed In The East

The Police - Regatta De Blanc

The Clash - The Clash

Boy, this Maiden album is kicking my butt. We may be looking at a clear favorite here though Number and Power were duking it out previously.

Overall Killers is still my fave, but for BD it's hard to beat Powerslave. I loved Seventh when it first hit though.

Haven't heard the D'ianno stuff yet. Thought about buying Killers instead, but it was a buck 50 more and I'd heard great things about 7th son. But yeah, Powerslave is a beast, Aces to Mariner, I've never heard a wasted note on that album.

Also, saw the Petty box set, looks good.

I own all of those, except "Lodger" by Bowie. All are excellent, and I'm not guessing, because I just loaded 'em all on my burning of them onto my computer for the second time since I got this WIMPdows machine last year.

Going to finish my Bowie collection soon.

Still hoping the deluxe Wildflowers gets released. Curious to hear the original Leave Virginia Alone since he gave that song to Rod Stewart a year later.

Drama was immediately great, and Axis and Ambrosia were both much better than I had expected. Also Santana is excellent. Still haven't listened to Wakeman or Banks yet.

Let's see. I was already familiar with Band On The Run, though it'd been years since I listened to it, so it was good to come back a little more knowledgable and without expecting the whole thing to be like the title track. The Doors I'd already bought earlier this summer on CD, so getting the vinyl was just a bonus. I'd listened to Silk Degrees for the first time a few weeks back on Mick's recommendation (I had just gotten Toto IV). And Zenyattà Mondatta is the same story as Band On The Run. I'd heard it years ago, but not revisited it until now.

Everything else was brand new.

Oh boy, what have I got since last time?

well, a bunch of Italian prog from amazon (just the mp3s)

Le Orme - Felona E Sorona

Alphataurus - Alphtaurus (it sounded like Aquatarkus, and Tarkus is one of the few things from ELP I absolutely love, and it just seemed crazy enough to be good)

PFM - L'Isola Di Niente

Il Balletto di Bronzo - Ys

and just yesterday on vinyl at Barnes and Noble

The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Axis: Bold As Love (better than the debut, I dunno, but it's definitely more cohesive. this music just takes you somewhere else)

Neutral Milk Hotel - In The Aeroplane Over The Sea (fantastic, childlike imagination abounds)

Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band - Trout Mask Replica (the price tag was 60 bucks, but there was a sale, and I had birthday money, more than enough...I just decided to take the opportunity given, hope I like it)
