rocket ignites
I'm tired of his schtich but much respect for Boomer. It's been a good ride for the ESPN icon.
John V
I don't care one way or the other. Now, if we were discussing Chris Collinsworth, I would agree not having to see, nor hear him ever again would be music to my ears.

Principled Man
I'll start watching ESPN again.....the day after his last day. We dumped cable last year so I won't be. :D We really have no more need of ESPN or any other sports highlights networks. I just go to the Brewers and Packers' websites, and they have all the highlights and interviews. If I want analysis, I go to the Green Bay and Milwaukee beat reporters. These national sports commentators are total assclowns.

The TV is the worst thing to ever happen to sports. You might be alone on an island there. I'd say that television - cable television specifically - has brought a lot of good and bad to pro and college sports. Lots of exposure, a huge increase in popularity, but also an increase in greedy, narcissistic players as well as idiotic announcers and commentators. Too much commercialization, too much hype, but better overall performances by the players.
Disembodied Spirit
ESPN will be unwatchable for the next 2 weeks. They are so in love with (Because they are overpaying) for the NBA contract, it is pretty muchALL NBA all the time on every show. They got the finals they wanted but ad revenue is lower than expected. So for months they have instructed staff to overly promote on all shows.... The Warriors vs. Thunder series was amazing. The finals match-up with the CAVs should be TV gold...an epic rematch with plenty of storylines.
