Blue J
2112 was among the first Rush music I ever heard- courtesy of my older brother, who turned me on to them. This was about 1979, maybe '80. The overture and Temples of Syrinx totally blew my six-year old mind. It was, without a doubt, the heaviest thing I had ever heard. And listening to it all these years later, it still impresses me on that level. This one was a scene-setter for a lot of the heavy music I would get into later on, too. A huge record in terms of the musical taste I would develop later. I love it so much!

catherine
Mine's washed now. I will probably wear it tomorrow and if I remember to take a picture I will post it. Anyone know the trick for getting images on Flickr to work here? Never can figure it out anymore. They make it so tricksy now.
ytserush
2112 came out sometime in March (according to Visions and Rush Is A Band) but if people want to celebrate it April 1 then good on them. Still doesn't definitively prove exactly when it came out but the first Billboard ad (which doesn't not have a release date) and the first review appear in this issue. http://www.americanradiohistory.com/Archive-Billboard/70s/1976/Billboard%201976-03-27.pdf It didn't hit the Top 200 chart until two weeks later at number 181. Traditionally it takes two weeks from release to be eligible for the chart, but I don't know if that was the case in 1976.
