If GNR are a hair band then they easily make the top 5 for me.

yeah, if appetite's a "hair" record, it's easily my #1, but I think it's too heavy to be classified as hair.

but shout at the devil's pretty heavy too, and I call that hair. so I dunno what I know

Just jokin' . . . I think.

Hey TM! You are funny! I thought of RUSH being a "Hair Band" during these same times. 1985

Everyone sold out to hairspray.

At least Neil kept his hair short!

Scorpions sell out whores!

"Savage Amusement" HAIR METAL!

They are playing here tonight in San Jose with Queensryche.

I cheated and looked at the set list.

It's beyond generic with crappy new songs.so

There is a Seventies Medley but I don't think it's worth it.

Should I go or save my money?

I'm divorced now so I should probably learn to stay home.

Grow old and be boring.....

I'm seeing Duran Duran on Friday.

Never seen them.

I've seen the Scorps 8 times.

Kind of getting old.

Advice hair metalists?

good way to know if you should see a band - ask yourself if you'd regret missing the show if they died or broke up in a few weeks

Yes I get it. I chose to pass on the Scorpions and see a band I've never seen, Duran Duran.

I had tickets to see SRV with Jeff Beck. I had to work that night. I was going to call in sick but I didn't. Sure enough Stevie died a year later.

I will regret that for the rest of my life.

Hair metal?? Ok

Slayer

Testament

Megadeth

Krokus

Metal Chirch

Dave Mustaine does have some impressive hair.

So does Tom Araya.

Tom has the epic, old man beard going for him now as well. I don't consider Slayer or Megadeth hair metal though.

...Helix? Wow. A highschool buddy had that album.

Allright, you know I have kind of a hard time with hair metal bands. It was everywhere in the '80's early '90's, but very little of it stuck with me. Don't remember most of the tunes. Motley Crue and Ratt put out some decent stuff in '83-'84, and then went past their sell-by date. Just my opinion. Then SEVERAL bands jumped on the bandwagon. Good lord. I just plain gravitated to dirtier, uglier, harder stuff. Van Halen was plenty poppy and tuneful enough for me.

Do like Twisted Sister. And glam era Ozzy. But you knew that already. Duh. :haz:

Wait... what about Ugly Kid Joe? Do they count? Love those clowns.

Nah, they're just a regular rock band. Hair metal bands sold the image above the music. So bands like Crue and Poison in their early years were hair metal.
