Lorraine
In many ways I think the early eighties was the best, and has the sixties beat, in bands and music. If you were to compile a CD for someone with the ten best songs that came out between 1980 and 1985, what would you put on it? I'm not interested in albums, just songs. :)
Narps
Gonna require lots of thought on this one and some research as well. Now way I can do this one of the top of my head. Memory is not serving as well as it used to. Good question though as always... :)
Mr. Not
Depends if you were going for the upbeat "representive of stereotype" 80's or something more serious. For example, I'd put "Kid Gloves" & Devo somewhere on the former, and "Afterimage" & Heart on the latter. You notice I didn't answer my own question. :codger: Maybe I should have upped it to twenty to make it easier? No doubt about it that there is much to choose from just during that five year period. :)

Lorraine
If it will make it easier for anyone, you can make it twenty songs. It'll be a Snakes & Arrows type CD. :laughing guy:

Lorraine
Rock and CT, both great lists. The Fixx. Asia. Peter Gabriel - Queen - Mr. Mister - Duran Duran  I really think that five year span is the best rock ever saw in its history. I don't know if it will ever be repeated. Lorraine
I thought the Payolas Eyes Of A Stranger was a good song and I liked them a lot. Too bad this Canadian band got lost in the eighties crowd.
