I also wonder whatever happened to all of my friends from back then. How did their lives turn out? Are they still alive?

Same here,

I often wonder about them as well. Some more than others. :codger:

A fun little doo-wop tune from "The Diamonds", a group from Toronto I think.

I like how it modulates all over the place, and that you can hear the bass barely get in there at 1:34. :)

Amazing that the vocals were all done around one microphone, and that the singers had to balance their sound themselves. Very cool!

The one singer's falsetto is pretty amazing too!

I was referring to those who haven't been here in a while. :)

My friend Rita is doing her show on Deep Nuggets right now.. her theme is "Jangle"... so in addition to the Replacements/REM/Big Star, she's playing Beatles, Byrds, Seekers. It's wonderful.

Just heard:

Byrds - Feel A Whole Lot Better

Beatles - Eight Days A Week

and a bunch more.

I love that Byrds' song.

Thanks for mentioning it. I'm going to listen to it today. :)

Do we have a Byrds' thread here? Maybe it's just us older members who remember them well, but they were good. Poor Gene Clark got taken to the cleaners though. Poor guy.

I assume this counts as an oldie:

I'm finally getting around to checking out Paul McCartney's stuff.

I remember hearing this on the radio a million years ago. My dad liked this one.

Never knew it was Paul until a few days ago! Great little tune!

I wish I could dance. :( I'd like to bust some funky 70s moves to this one. :P.

While I'm wishing, I wish I could play bass as effortlessly and musically as Paul. And sing like him. And have his bank account.

Gotta play it one more time...

:dweez:
