That's what I did when Rush opened the TM tour in Albuquerque. Two birds, one stone. I even suckered my then 74 yr old father in to attending his first ever rock concert with me. Great night! 2

I had one of those in front of me in Portland. He seemed to enjoy the show. What did Pops think about RUSH? Oh, my dad absolutely loved the show! He was a classical musician, so he spent his entire life on stage performing with symphony. It was a big change for him to watch a show. And he completely missed out on popular music, so it was quite a fresh experience for him. But he was blown away by the spectacle, and he really admired their mastery of their instruments. Plus, he got a big kick out of calling his classical music buddies, and saying "Hey, guess what I did? I went to a Rush concert!" 3

It feels great though!!!From my marathon I remember two things vividly. One was hitting the Wall around mile 19. It was 95 degrees out by then, the field had thinned, and I felt like I was wandering alone in a post-Apocalyptic. The track (Sacramento) was a a loop that we had to do twice, which was tough psychologically. Somehow I was able to gather myself and finish strong, with a kick. The other thing I remember was that they had post-run massages, and it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. So much pleasure after so much pain. Incidentally, that run was the last time I wore my hair long. 2
