It was 95 degrees out by then, the field had thinned, and I felt like I was wandering alone in a post-Apocalyptic. The track (Sacramento) was a a loop that we had to do twice, which was tough psychologically. Somehow I was able to gather myself and finish strong, with a kick. The other thing I remember was that they had post-run massages, and it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. So much pleasure after so much pain. Incidentally, that run was the last time I wore my hair long. They had massages and people helping us stretch yesterday too.
