Geddy's Farewell

Tuco....I mean Tico...wow, the memories...good one!

They have said Neil likes to record, so it does sound like there could be new material in the future based how positive Al n Ged have spoken about that.

As far as live shows, since there wouldn't be anything close to a tour, could involve a band, if Neil is adamant about no more live shows...a band with definitely Ged, perhaps Al that would need to bill themselves as something other than Rush. It's incredible the high standard Rush is held to (as some bands tour under a famous classic band name, and the only connection is the drummers 14th cousin twice removed is in the band).

But holding Rush to a higher standard is worth it!

In Bristow Va, he said "Thank you very much, We hope to see you again in a couple of years". I'm hoping so aswell. Just recently became a die-hard fan here in the past couple years and knowing I may never them again has had me depressed since I got home Sunday morning.

:( This thread is making me sad.

Glass half empty you are. http://www.smiley-lol.com/smiley/sf/yoda-master.gif

Think of it this way Geddy is keeping the door open.

Imagine it RUSH on tour five years from now...Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson and Ticco Torres.

I can think of about a million good reasons why that's not a good idea. :P

I don't think Alex and Geddy would stoop so low! I think they'd pull ME out of retirement before getting that loser!

You would think

But Brian May, Roger Taylor hired Paul Rodgers to replace Freddie Mercury in Queen

Then they hired Adam Lambert to do the same

Money changes everything.

Never rule out ANYTHING when music and money are involved

Never rule out the incredibly cult nature of RUSH fandom. There is no other line up that would get me to a RUSH show, nor do I believe any fraction of the boys would perform a show without any other. Your fantasy is just that.

This is a singular band. They is what they is and that's all what they is.

I'm not sure if they are done touring or not, but at their age, health problems can creep up on you quickly. Another tour would probably be at least 2 years away. That is why I'm making hay while the sun shines and going to YYZ and Montreal to see them again. I honestly feel it may be my last chance.

Ged and Al will appear in some other soundtrack,TV Movie or special guest projects for sure .Neil will do some private work and be mentioned on credits but This will be the last tour of this caliber.

They will get together and jam for sure - but- man what a run... what a Trio- what a legecy
