Rush couldn't come to Spokane, but Jimmy Eat World could. Thought of you, Segue, as soon as I saw they were coming here.

They don't really ever come here. Makes me sad!

When they do it's normally just one or two London gigs.

I love them they are a warm hug!

Have you been listening to anything lately?

For three months I listened to not one thing.

Until today.

That can be a good thing. And coming back to it is often the best feeling! What did you play?

Also my local record store has a huge stand of classic prog and a lot of Moody Blues is in a deal.

Tempted!

The Moodies are making a big to-do about the 50th anniversary of DOFP. That's probably why there are a lot of albums by them displayed.

I played Tom Petty's Running Down A Dream.

Some things I can't listen to yet. Time is not right. Still too raw. You know what it's like.

I do. I've started playing music a lot more lately that I listened to in my more innocent years. It is really a blessing having choice beyond the recent.

I've wondered if that's why Rush and me fell out. I played them through a breakdown that was severe and now they feel so...cold...shame.

I haven't played that album I don't think (or is it a song?).

I won't be able to listen to a lot of songs for a while.

I just resurrected from the dead today. Five months buried alive.

If I can help in any way I am a listening ear. But I also know privacy is key and friendship can be a great distraction if left for banter!

This thread needs a dusting anyway haha

I'm literally on a no music kick. i'm like totally spent at the moment. hence my decreased appearances on here.

it does nothing for me. it's been a while.

But once my music batteries get recharged it'll be back to it.

Music's power.... i remember periods where I couldn't listen to certain things...

Sometimes you get a song stuck in your head and can't dislodge it for weeks. During the time it's playing nonstop in your brain, things happen. Those events are forever associated with the song. The memory of the event may fade, but the song brings you right back to it. I'm not ready for that.

Yeah...all my fave Rush songs and The Cure have this effect.

Truth. There are still a few songs which are very tough listens for me.

I'm used to having emotional reactions to music, and for the most part, I welcome that. But some stuff... yeah. Too raw, too much.

This thread will soon be two years old.

Seems like twenty years ago that I started it.

It was honestly a simpler time for us all I think.

movies, old sitcoms......anything but music. yikes that like a horrid swipe at music but it's not. i've just burned out.

2 years old. i feel like i was more enthusiastic towards life back then. then 2016 hit and i've lost some of that "innocence". i'm not depressed just more um......down to earth i guess?lol

i miss it.

I know exactly what you mean about losing some of that "innocence."

Things happen and you know you will never ever, no matter what, be the same again.

You find out what you're made of though. It's either sink or swim.

Finally had the courage to stand up for myself so...hes in a spot of bother.

But hey! We all have our peculiar issues in life and unlike some I try to laugh it off. Like Lorraine said...we don't know the future.
