The only voice on The Fountain of Lamneth that doesn't make me cringe.

Why do you have rock 'n' roll so much?

I don't. I hate The Fountain of Lamneth, The Necromancer, and Hemispheres (just the song). That's it. I like EVERYTHING else from Rush. Their '70s output is great, save for the sidelong epics (though I do love 2112). Don't ask me why…

Probably because they did 2112 right! I know where you're coming from but I happen to love the weird side long epics!

I'm a bit late on reading the replies! I don't think the voice is Terry Brown because I don't hear a British accent (he is the intro voice on Cygnus X-1 though). I'm going to guess and say it's both Neil and Alex in unison. Hope to find out for certain someday!

I don't think Brown's the cygnus guy. If you listen carefully, you can hear it's Lee's voice (pretty sure, anyway).

According to the Rush Visions book (B-Man), it's Terry Brown on Cygnus X-1. Plus, you can make out a British accent which gives it away.

Huh. Thought I heard Lee's voice in there. Maybe it's a blend, like the D & N thing.

D&N is all three.

Speculation, or do you have a source you can provide?

No online source but I read it years ago.

Ike Turner. That's the rumor circulating in urban American circles.

I think I heard a hint of Tina in there as well.

Do you recall where you read it EagleMoon?

You know, I swear I hear James Earl Jones in there too. ;)

No I don't. Most likely it was one of the music magazines like Guitar Player/Bass Player/Circus/Creem/Hit Parader since those are mainly where I remember getting information back then.
