Sorry Mick but VT on vinyl doesn't sound to bad... :(

Makes me happy that you think that anyway. :) So does that mean that you will keep playing it?

I am sure I will from time to time. I have alot of catching up to do. I have albums I had forgotten I even had. Steely Dan's Aja, Deep Purple's Machine Head, all The Mac's great albums and many more. I will be busy for a while....

I must be the only one who doesn't get the love for vinyl.

But dang, that chair looks like a hundred kinds of comfortable!

The vinyl is sounding pretty awesome I must admit. Just takes me back and I am at "that age" I suppose. That chair is one you will never want to remove yourself from I promise. I have slept in it a few times and it goes all the way back and might as well be a bed... Edited by Narpski

This is awesome, Narpetski...so glad you've made the effort to treat yourself to that. All I can say is right on, right on...

:ebert:

I just listened to Steely Dan's Aja. Damn it sounded sweet!.... :)

The last such listening session I had was about three weeks ago, with:

Jethro Tull- Living in the Past, and

Yes- Yessongs

I have a similar space to what you do, but it's in my basement.

That looks like a really nice comfortable place to hang out. I'm sure you'll be able to spend a lot of quality time there. And yes that chair does look really comfortable. :)

I sold most of my records over the years and only kept some of the ones that I really wanted, but I got rid of my turntable the last time I moved. As far as Rochelle him skill albums go, I think last one I bought and still have it is Moving Pictures. The rest are on cd.

I don't really expect much run on this thread I just wanted to shout from the mountaintops that I am back in the vinyl listening business again. The last time I listened to vinyl must have been 30 years ago I would say. I have kept all my mostly 70's vinyl for just an occasion such as this.

I have my original late 70's Technics turntable and my late 70's Onkyo receiver setup. I got some gift cards for Christmas and went and got 2 Klipsch bookshelf type speakers and they sound great to me. They seemed the best quality and sound for the limited funds I could spend. My son and I set it all up yesterday. The imperfect perfection of vinyl, oh how I missed it!!

I have an extra room off the living room all set up as a comfy listening area. I may bring the laptop in there to as I really need to relax and get away from the television news for a while and listen to music, post on the forum and possibly even read some.

Thanks to many here for the push to this moment. Without your encouragement I probably never would have done this.... and thanks again.

Below are a few pics of my listening, lounge space....

records are making a bit of a comeback, sales have increased and listeners like the overall sound of the vinyl albums better. When I find that article, I'll post it...

By the way that is one awesome chair! :notworthy:

I need to install a few shelves in that piece of furniture. It was about all I could do with them in the short term. BTW good to see you around a bit lately. Missed you and your corn dogs.... :D

I honestly hadn't heard a vinyl recording in a least 30 years until yesterday. I love it and had forgotten how great the sound is. I will look forward to your posting. I have already checked Amazon as I posted earlier to fill in some glaring omissions (at least I think) in my collection. I can get anything it appears in good to great used condition for relatively little money. Close To The Edge will be my first purchase via that route. How in the hell I don't have that and I have seemingly everything else Yes related pre 1980 is a mystery to me. I was a dumb kid I will admit. To busy with the Clearasil and my hormones to think straight most likely ...
