RUSHHEAD666
Man it's 11:15 here. I want to go into my garage and play to all five Police albums NOW! But I can't!!!! Ugh! My snare pad is going to get abused tonight!! Stewart Copeland rules!! He's relentless. One of the greatest timekeepers in the world. Yet he says he plays his drums and cymbals one inch to the right. Always ahead of the beat I suppose. Genius.
Rod in Toronto
Holy Shit! Here it is! Wow! He almost sounds like Dave Matthews! WTF? Great! DRIVEN TO TEARS The handshake and the jump at the end are priceless!!!
Rod in Toronto
Now I don´t know where to post anymore because there are three or four active The Police threads...but I´ll try this one. Here´s a few pics of a Sting concert I saw in Oslo in 202 - he was the headliner of the Norwegian Wood Festival, and I still can´t believe I managed to catch this - I had arrived in Oslo from Rio only a handful of hours before: http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k210/RodrigoAltaf/P1010991_zpsd2e744c4.jpg http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k210/RodrigoAltaf/P1020046_zps5f3167fb.jpg http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k210/RodrigoAltaf/P1020097_zpsab26707f.jpg

Rick N. Backer
So I'm going to show Ghost in the Machine a little love here, since it's getting a bit of a beat down. Spirits in the Material World, Every Little Thing She Does is Magic, Invisible Sun, Hungry For You and Demolition Man are all fantastic songs, IMO. Too Much Information, Secret Journey and Darkness are all excellent as well. The album is a little less "punky" or "ska" influenced than the first three, but it's still a great album. Hungry for You, in fact, is one of my very favorite Police songs of all time. I'm going through a Police binge right now because of this thread. Really, they have no outright bad songs.
RUSHHEAD666
Wow Rod!! Nice set list! Sorry I brought the other Police thread back up from the dead. Hey Rick! "Ghost" was never my favorite out of the five albums but I listened to it twice yesterday. It's not bad.Catchy shit but Stewarts drumming is back to basics. He rarely hits his splashes. Also he rarely hits his octobans! It's very straight forward.Very redundant lyrically. That's Sting!
Rod in Toronto
Omegaman is really great to run to. The one song from Ghost I really don´t like is Demolition Man.

RUSHHEAD666
Hey Earl, does anyone, and I mean ANYONE, have a better snare sound than Stewart? Hey Rick! I think Stewart's snare sound it at the top! Do you like any Primus? I love Tim Alexander. He has a piccolo snare sound that is out of this world. "Frizzle Fry" and "Sailing The Seas Of Cheese" of course!!!

Digital Dad
Three good ones right there. Agree about 311. I did like their 311 album but the rapping annoys the living bejeesus out of me.

Thanks DD! Yes! I totally agree! I love the 311 sound but that rap is CRAP! One of their songs actually rips off a Rush riff with a bit of Iron Maiden in the beginning. I love this song! "Beautiful Disaster." Love the snare! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDQlSUjqsuo The Rush riff is around 2:10. Then it goes into a Maiden riff. RUSHHEAD666
Then again another one of the greatest albums ever made is by the Surf Punks! The album is entitled "My Beach." It RULES! The drummer has a great snare sound. He has a strange piece of cloth on top of the snare. Lorraine
What's so special about the drumming on Wrapped Around Your Finger? I seriously want to know, and I'm not asking to be a snark.
