Empty Mindless Spectre
Ok, either I'm an absolute moron, or this site is not very user friendly, or possibly a little of both. It seems like any time I try to upload or link to an image or video, I am never able to accomplish it. Is there a help page somewhere on the site explaining how to do these things? If so I'd appreciate it if someone would point me to it. :banghead: :banghead: :fuckinputer: :fuckinputer: :fuckinputer:
sundog
I use photobucket as an image hosting site -http://smg.photobucket.com/ If you don't already have an account, you can create one - it's free.Upload images you want to post to this account - you can set privacy so it's not publicly accessible. On the side of the uploaded images are some "Share Links"Choose the one that best suits your desired share type - on TRF I use the IMG - but the trick I have found, and I imagine there must be a less complicated way to do this - I manually delete the code on either side of the "[ IMG] [ / IMG]" so the image is alone. Feel free to PM me if you need clarification - it's still early and I haven't finished my coffee yet - so it makes sense to me, but it might not make sense to you. :sundog:
Maverick
If you are linking a YouTube video, examine the link and make sure it starts with "http" and not "https". If the "s" is there, just delete it. That will allow the video window to display.
Ancient Ways
I would follow their instructions and use this thread as an upload testing thread.
Principled Man
If you are linking a YouTube video, examine the link and make sure it starts with "http" and not "https". If the "s" is there, just delete it. That will allow the video window to display. Also, on the actual YouTube page, you can hit the "Share" button, copy the blue highlighted link provided, and then paste it on whatever post you're making here. :ebert:

ThatLightInYourEyes
Sometimes images will scramble into a huge mess of text if you try to post them. That probably means that they don't want you taking bandwidth.
WorkingAllTheTime
Not gonna lie.... I know just enough about technology to be dangerous.... so, really, these suggestion comments feel a lot like one of Alex' LVS rants from back in the day. Empty Mindless Spectre
http://www.therushfo...qs/#entry232116 http://www.therushfo...qs/#entry232118 Thank you Sundog, and everyone else who responded. I was apparently having issues with Photobucket which compounded my frustration. For some reason, i wasn't able to select the share links. I just went back to Photobucket today and I am able to select and copy them. Go figure… All that said, I still don't get why I have jump through these hoops just to get a simple image posted here. I don't get why I can't just link an image right from my desktop.
antiquark
Also give imgur and tumblr a try, they work well with images.
