1-0-0-1-0-0-1
So after a three-year disappearing act, I'm back! Happy October, friends! Nice! KaoKun1990
So after a three-year disappearing act, I'm back! Happy October, friends! Nice! Your Sabres look like they're rebuilding the right way. They should be good in a few years. As an Islanders fan, I know all about the rebuild. And being I'm still working at the First Niagara Center, I'm witnessing this rebuild firsthand. And even better: we have nowhere to go but up! I like our moves since the firing of Regier...it was long overdue if you ask any Sabres fan. Hiring Nolan back first as interim and now as true head coach was a perfect move. The way he works with younger players is phenomenal, and our abundance of those younger players only helps him. Personally, I laugh when I see all of these hockey pundits still putting us at the bottom two of the East. While I'm not expecting us to go all Colorado Avalanche and win the division this year, but we certainly will not be basement dwellers again. ...although Connor McDavid could be worth being a basement dweller again... laughedatbytime
Hawks trade Nick Leddy to Isles for three prospects. e anticipated departure of one of the Chicago Blackhawks' regulars finally came to fruition Saturday when the team traded defenseman Nick Leddy to the New York Islanders in return for three prospects. The Hawks needed to make a deal to get under the NHL's salary cap and the 23-year-old Leddy was the victiim of the roster maneuvers. In addition to Leddy, the Hawks sent minor-league goaltender Kent Simpson to the Islanders for defensemen T.J. Brennan and Ville Pokka and the rights to restricted free-agent goaltender Anders Nilsson Leddy, who carries a cap hit of $2.7 million, will become a restricted free agent following the season. In anticipation of the trade, the Hawks scratched him from the team's final two exhibition games. Brennan and Pokka will report directly to the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League while Nilsson will remain with Ak Bars of the Kontinental Hockey League. The trade capped a series of moves made by the Hawks on Saturday as they finalize their roster for the 2014-15 season. They have until Tuesday at 4 p.m. Central to submit their roster for opening night Oct. 9 against the Stars in Dallas. Earlier Saturday, the Hawks announced the signing of veteran winger Daniel Carcillo to a one-year deal worth a reported $550,000. Meanwhile, forward Teuvo Teravainen and defenseman Klas Dahlbeck were assigned to Rockford. TSN reported the Hawks placed veteran center Peter Regin on waivers as well as goaltender Michael Leighton. Brennan, 25, appeared in 76 regular-season games with the AHL’s Toronto Marlies last season and had 25 goals and 47 assists. The 20-year-old Pokka played in 54 games with Karpat in the SM-liiga in Finland last season and finished with six goals and 21 assists. Nilsson, 24, has a 4-1-2 record, 2.10 goals-against average and .928 save percentage in eight games with the KHL’s Ak Bars this season. He split the 2013-14 season between the Islanders and AHL Bridgeport Nilsson was 8-7-2 with a 3.11 GAA and .896 SV% in 19 regular-season games with the Islanders. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/hockey/blackhawks/chi-blackhawks-trade-nick-leddy-to-islanders-20141004-story.html

I know we need a fighter on the team, but this doesn't upgrade our fourth line, which proved inefficient last season against LA's backups during the playoffs.
