Iron Maiden is my favorite band
  1. On a Law and Order binge .. up to Season 16
  2. I saw Joan Jett last year, she put on a good show (it was a town festival with Foghat, Joan Jett, and Cheap Trick .. great show). I saw Lita Ford in the late 80s, really solid show and she just looked great. But the best I have seen live has to be Heart. Incredible vocals, great songs, just an all around fun time and they still sound good.
  3. I liked the 2 JJ Trek movies, I also get why long time Trek fans may have a problem with them (especially the last one) ... but Trek movie history has been spotty and best and this has put some life into the franchise, which is much better on TV than the big screen. I really know nothing about this guy, I guess we will see. Hopefully he keeps up at least the good box office and someone picks up a new TV series
  4. I am pretty sure the next album will continue their proggy style. I think that is just where the band is and to try to do something else would end up being a poor album.
  5. I have to agree, I was really liking season 4 .. a nice bounce back from Season 3. But, I am hoping season 5 takes place in the US .. the "home" part of homeland
  6. I am not a huge Bowie fan, but I was in Chicago and went to the "David Bowie Is: exhibit at the Museum of Contemporary Art. Very cool exhibition, both the display and the way they handled the audio. Link to the exhibit http://www2.mcachicago.org/exhibition/david-bowie-is/
  7. You lucky bum! You saw Ratt with Fastway? Yet another great band! Fast Eddie Clarke! That red head singer is currently in Flogging Molly! Unreal!! I decided to never see RATT again after the "Detonator" record. RATT put out a few albums since that are ok but I always thought that Pearcy's vocals were going down hill. It's sad really. All of the Eighties hard rock band singers are going down the drain. Don Dokken and Joe Elliott to name a few. Fastway was impressive, I always liked them. Too bad they did not make it bigger, I do go see Flogging Molly every time they come through town (once a year for the past 8 years), they put on a great show. Pearcy has gone downhill, really he was never a super strong live singer to start with. But musically the band was much much better than I was expecting. I'd go see them again with a different singer if the rest of the band stays the same. I totally agree with you on Pearcy. So what Flogging Molly albums should I get? Doesn't all of their music sound the same? Drunken Lullabies is my favorite, but I think they are a much stronger live act than on record. Their shows are a ton of fun, I own all their albums but honestly do not listen to them all that often.
  8. I found the Bond 50 Blu Ray set for $75, came in the mail today and I watched Dr. No. Planning on watching them all in a row

  10. I saw Ratt last year at the House of Blues in Dallas. I was surprised how good they were, the vocals were a bit spotty at times, but musically they sounded really solid. The previous time I saw them was after Out of the Cellar came out, I was living in San Diego and they played outdoors at San Diego State with Fastway and Lita Ford opening. Really good show. Musically, always thought they were the best of the LA glam bands from that era, they put out some really good songs. Last year, they pretty much played a "best of" set and I enjoyed each and every one of them.
